One thing I've wondered re ticket prices. is it possible to get ticket sponsorship? so for example etihad (or whoever) sponsor city tickets and that money acts to subsidise ticket prices.
the positive exposure for whichever company did it would be worth every penny and I'd love to see UEFA try and exempt it from FFP.
Wow bordering on genius .
So IE Asda sponsor each ticket for a quid so £45,000 per game x 19 home games .absolutely fuck all on the sceam of things .city fan gets £19 of Asda vouchers to exchange for goods that cost Asda £3 to buy .city fans pocket the diffence of asda saving English football win win !!

I agree on the ticket prices, I think they will come down. City have seen how the fans aren't able to afford games when they are priced too high. They've seen that the CL means fuck all to us unless we can afford to go and they can see that televised games are impacting on attendances as well. The money they make from corporate sales, sponsorship and tv rights will help them balance ticket prices for the everyday fan. They've already allocated some £299 season tickets and as the ground gets bigger they'll be able to offer more lower priced season tickets as a balance. They might not be cheap but I don't think they will rise beyond what they are now, and in certain areas will probably come down in price. I'm hoping that for the legacy and future of the club they think carefully about family season tickets and things to ensure we get lots of local kids hooked on the club.

It would one of the many cherries on top, whilst the rest of Europe's top clubs flounder and buckle under their own lack of foresight, City stroll merrily by, announcing a drop in ticket prices on account of strong commercial growth, no longer needing the revenue to comply with UEFA's bullshit.

If they get it right they can steal a lot of potential match goers from the rags and other clubs in the region. Why go watch the rags in the swamp for £xxxx when you can go and watch City in a state of the art stadium, doing better, with better players, and better facilities for cheaper? Get the younger generation in and hooked as I said and our dominance will be shown in attendances as well. This whole 'istree doesn't live long in the memory. We win the league another two or three times if not more by 2020 and ideally throw other trophies in there including the CL and we will be the club that dominated in the 2010s (or whatever hip term it's called). No one will care that the rags won x amount in the prem era because it will have moved on from there. A great situation for us would be a brand change again to it being called something other than the premier league. The we can close that chapter and dominate the new branding!

This is what makes city's quest to drive families out of the etihad totally staggering over the last 3 seasons .this gets totally overlooked when ticket prices get discussed. All people see is £57 adult ticket not £34 for a kid in sixth form with no income !!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I think ticket prices will fall dramatically in the coming years and that City will lead the way. It is obvious that you don't have to be in the stadium to watch the match, and it is impossible for many supporters to go to the ground to watch the club they support. Television is a very poor substitute for a ticket because the experience is comparatively so poor. City will lead the way in taking "distance spectators" into the ground itself by the developmnent of headsets which allow fans to enjoy the atmosphere, look around the stadium etc as though they were actually there. The only big difference will be that you won't be able to buy a pint and a pie. Now, United, for example, have set themselves against such a trend by banning tablets, wi-fi and the rest, due to pressure from sponsors, and the TV agreements don't allow it at the moment, but I reckon City will be able to press for/negotiate a deal which allows our fans/group's fans in NY, Melbourne, Japan etc to "go" to our games. This will make it worthwhile reducing ticket prices to allow them to enjoy a full stadium. As Sorrianno said, some football clubs are still like cinemas, but others can be like Disney.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The main thing that sells PL football to overseas fans (particularly in USA) is the vocal intensity of supporters.

It is absolutely imperative that we fill our stadium with participating fans rather than a politely applauding audience if we are to give ADUG a chance to sell sponsorship in our favour.

It is to the benefit of ADUG and our supporters if every available seat is occupied by fervent fans selling a magnificent product to an appreciative TV viewing public.

It matters little if our gate receipts are down if other income increases so 55K paying low prices should be the tool of choice for ADUG to succeed.

Bless them. Definitely living back in 2008 some of these. They certainly don't understand what we have been doing.
