City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I seem to remember that a mod (think it was PB) thought this thread had passed its sell by date because we were presumably not at risk from further punishment.
Is this still the case ? By that i mean will our poor last half of the season promote spending beyond Mr K.'s original decision to '...concentrate on commercial aspects....' or will the business plan be strictly adhered to ?

Perhaps there are deals in the pipeline that will more than cover the PL probable deficit together with replacement of key players who are suddenly not as effective as we thought not to mention the lack of progress made by expensive purchases.

Regarding VK's interview, I think we are at last seeing a change in the way media interpret FFP our owners feel that they can still distance themselves from their 'pinch' agreement yet still at least get a point of view over that others can at least debate rather than denigrate.

Probably it would not have happened if our team had actually played to their potential but I cannot see it doing any harm.

As much as FFP and its implementation infuriates me.. we still spent 40m on bloody Mangala.. We could have had Sanchez for that.

If only life was FIFA 15
Has any one tried playing Sanchez at CB in Fifa? What was the result?

Edit: not to mention it was £32 million, but hey ho.
Yes I'm aware they play different positions. What was wrong with Nasty?

Listen to the latest Blue moon podcast. They're quoting over 40 million for mangala.

I still think it is. The problem was with our historic losses and they are now under control. Our spending in the current financial year isn't likely to impact our meeting the revised target of a €10m maximum loss as far as I can see. Any summer spending will be in our 2016 accounts and there are rumours of bigger sponsorship deals and new sponsors for the CFA, plus the increased revenue from the BT Sport CL deal that will also hit those accounts. Then the new PL money comes in. So I don't think we've a probem.

Thanks PB.

Hopefully, problems on the field can start to be rectified to interface with the anticipated income surge you anticipate.

Incidentally if our current disastrous form continues and we are unable to qualify for any CL share how will that impact on things especially when combined with our lower share (if lower position in league) of the new money PL brings.

Pardon my pessimism but the cost of restructuring once again may be significant unless Sheik M. prefers ADUG to handle it within the original budget framework he originally approved. After all he is in it for the long haul.

I know Neville and Quinn are not privy to our finances but they seem to think we need to fight FFP because we cannot spend what we need to sort this ageing team out

If uefa restrict us again this summer, we will be fucked. We cannot afford to miss out on top players again this season due to these corrupt twats.

It's time the hierarchy grew a pair. If we pander to those clowns again and their blatantly obvious motives,we deserve mediocrity. This season has turned into a lot more than a pinch,

We have never missed out any realistic top player due to ffp. Not one. I challenge you to name one player we have missed out on due to ffp. Do not say Messi or Ronaldo or Bale. We have missed out on players due to our amateur dealings. It's always stupid things like, not giving the kid's dad an extra few million, not wanting to pay some extra agent fees, agreeing with player only to have them signing for someonelse the next day. Yes ffp is restrictive, but we ard much better saboteurs of ourselves than ffp.

We could of bought hazard in 2012, but that would of been nearly all our budget gone.

Yes we could of been better in the transfer market, but with FFP in our minds, we've had to strengthen our sauad rather than buy marquee signings. I hope that changes this summer.
