I seem to remember that a mod (think it was PB) thought this thread had passed its sell by date because we were presumably not at risk from further punishment.
Is this still the case ?
I still think it is. The problem was with our historic losses and they are now under control. Our spending in the current financial year isn't likely to impact our meeting the revised target of a €10m maximum loss as far as I can see. Any summer spending will be in our 2016 accounts and there are rumours of bigger sponsorship deals and new sponsors for the CFA, plus the increased revenue from the BT Sport CL deal that will also hit those accounts. Then the new PL money comes in. So I don't think we've a probem.
All dependent on CL qualification I assume?

"Mr Pellegrini has every reason to be optimistic that Uefa will lift its transfer restrictions on Manchester City this summer, a season early, as the club’s finances have now been brought well within Uefa’s limits on losses"

Can anyone explain this a little better? Seems that despite all the talk of this summer being a £100m trolley dash in fact we're basing this entirely on the assumption that UEFA will let us off their leash early.

If uefa restrict us again this summer, we will be fucked. We cannot afford to miss out on top players again this season due to these corrupt twats.

if we fall in line with our break even prediction and we still get punished then without question we will fight it this time. If we dont get top 4 it wont really matter any way so we should just go apeshit!

Why would we get punished if we fall in line with the €10m maximum allowable loss?

Sorry colin what I meant was the club expect to break even so if we got punished we would fight it this time.

It will matter as we will still be in Europe. Remember the Europa League?

I think I see what you're saying. Perhaps I'm being a bit naïve but we know what target we have to hit financially and so does everyone else. I expect a small net profit so with about £20m to add back to that we'll be well clear of that target. I don't see how we could be punished if that's the case but in the event that we were, then I'd expect all hell to break loose.

With our ageing players if we comply with FFP we are fucked.. better to challenge it and go down fighting ! no court can stop freedom of movement.. someone needs to legally challenge it as it isn't fair. It isn't like we don't have the money like Portsmouth.. it is obvious we do.

Some contributors in the past have led us to believe that entry into Euro competition is 'by invitation'. I'm not too sure on that as qualification could always be for the same old, same old no matter where these teams ended the season and Manure would therefore have taken our place in the current season. But if there IS some truth in it, then the answer is surely to decline invitation to the Europa as worthless to us and by doing whatever we like in the market, thus bypassing FFP and building for the future without restriction.
