So they want to take the ball home. Childish wa..kers. That's all it comes down to. Sad thing is these clubs got their own way before doing that.

But the clubs haven't done anything. They just have the right to.....oh I give up! See bottom of page 4. All this we will do this we will do that to stop UEFA and our rivals is rubbish. We don't need to do anything. Read the article rather than the headline.

Goodnight :-)

Keith, can you explain to
Me why it contravenes EU law?
In short, because it restricts competition. I believe that legal opinion given to our owners supports this.

Correct, a judicial challenge of the FFPR at ECJ will only have one outcome.

That has always been my view but I'm not a lawyer.

I think UEFA know that they could face a world of hurt if they ban City. They will end up in court and probably lose a very expensive court case. Also, as others have mentioned, our owner and his family could fund a European super league.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

I'd like to draw your attention back to Simon Mullock's tweets when the Accounts came out, keep in mind this guy is briefed regularly by the club.

"@MullockSMirror Jan 29
I was told last week that Man City's accounts would make no reference to FFP

‏@MullockSMirror Jan 29
The club do not want to validate a UEFA regulation that they believe contravenes European law
"

We fear no one.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

uefa wouldnt want ffp in court esp if challenged by city, ffp has more holes in it than a tea strainer and a bunch of well paid lawyers would rip it to bits, this will raise an eybrow for a week or two and sell a few papers then disapear like a turd down a bog

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

I aint worried for 2 reasons.

1) the reported loss doesnt into account the amount spend on academy and youth costs. Building the new academy must be a huge chunk of the loss and that is exempt under UEFA's FFP rules, so we are probably under the £30m threshold.

2) so what if they ban us? i aint arsed about a european club competition that has always been biased to the G-14 clubs and the FFP were set up to protect the G-14 clubs from other clubs gaining ground financially. If it was Financial Fair Play why have a £30m excess threshold when the majority of european clubs will never have a budget excess close to that, every season?

Plus, if they ban us for spending too much, whats stopping us to spend even more just to concentrate on winning the Premier League year on year .... which will/does overtake the CL in financial rewards.

The old European Cup had glamour and prestige associated to it. The Champions League has been cheapened by UEFA, as a fan i can live without it.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

A little bit of me hopes that they try and ban us. We could then bankrupt those amongst the G14 cartel of clubs that oppose us & their puppet organisation EUFA in one stroke. We haven't disclosed whether we passed FFP or not because we don't think its legal. Any statement by us that
we have either passed or failed it implies that we acknowledge its legal, which we don't. Simple message to anybody, including EUFA, who try and impose any sanction against us (including something trivial such as reducing our squad for the CL from 25 to 24) is see you in court.
If the European courts back FFP then venture capital investment in any business within the EU suddenly comes under threat from the existing companies in that business. This isn't going to happen folks unless EUFA have a death wish.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

Talk about Hypocrisy?

Chelsea?! The same Chelsea who spent £45m in January, have the highest payed manager in England (2nd in the world), have 24 (TWENTY FOUR) players on their payroll out on loan and who's recent annual losses came in £2m under City's.

United who just spent £37.5m on a player to save their capitulating season, have a more expensive first XI than us and have just offered an aging and unprofessional striker £300k a week and in-depth knowledge of future transfers.

Arsenal who's motto seems to be "you can't buy class" yet spent £42.5m (more than any City player ever) on Ozil and are upset they didn't sign another (unneeded) player for £37m.

Liverpool? Fucking Liverpool? A team that spends £90m on Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson and Stewart Downing while not even having any Champions League revenue.

will try and dig it out to read fully tomorrow. Bit blurred on here. Point being that in the past the threats of break away leagues etc was used to get their own way. Not saying they are threatening that ofcourse, but it naffs me off that they can't except that many teams have their day in history. It's our time now. They need to try and stop us on the park and not by introducing rules.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

I doubt they will be banning anyone while a player is still challenging FFP in the European courts. If they did and he wins his case then the compensation they would have to pay us would be huge.
