Warrior are a subsidiary of New Balance. New Balance are a business interest on John Henry..

That's interesting - how much of a business interest are we talking here? I haven't been able to find his shareholding.

They both stem from Boston and are friends. They have no shared business interests.

Ta. But basically enough to make up the same level of bullshit about influence and "oh it might not be in terms of fact, but we all know how it works" crap.

Have UEFA ever disclosed what their punishments are for failing certain parts of FFPR?

Like a list. Be it on paper or in PDF format.

Or have they made it up as they went along, and kept it to themselves.

Why isn't the said list in the public domain after 5 yeas of FFPR?

Spot on JRB.

The FIFA cartel would have a job justifying this if our challenge went as far as the courts.

i think i'm right in saying the red dippers shirt deal with Warrior is for a guaranteed minimum of £25 million per year for 6 years, therefore over 10 years would equate to £250 million, how the hell can our Etihad deal be questioned when you consider what it encompasses.

i am sure that there is also a link between the dippers owners and Warrior as well, given that i can;t think of another top flight football club who use warrior you would be hard pressed to argue that it isnt a related party deal. i suppose we will find out next year then.
You're confusing deals with the maker of the shirts (which relate to how many shirts you think you will sell) and deals with sponsors of the shirt, which relate to amount of exposure you get.

Warrior probably overpaid for the deal they got but it was their entry point into the football shirt market, which presumably is far more lucrative than the ice hockey & lacrosse kit market they previously specialised in. So it was almost certainly worth it to them, even if they make a loss on the deal. They've now signed up Sevilla, plus a couple of others. however it was apparently John Henry who "suggested" to Liverpool that they talk to Warrior. There's no other way that a niche supplier like them with no relevant experience in the market would have been given the chance to pitch to Liverpool otherwise I'd imagine.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Do Warrior supply the Redsox?

I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard to say "drop the price on that deal and increase the price on this deal".

Warrior pay the same, John Henry gets the same, but Liverpool gets a helping hand with FFP.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Not really relevant , but interesting parallels nonetheless.
Private wheel clamping was outlawed because , although it was deemed to be a contract between land owners and drivers merely to put up a sign warning of wheelclamping , the application of arbitrary " fines" to release the clamp was seen as illegal - even described in one court as akin to "extortion and theft"
It was seen as punishment without recourse to law and appeals processes.

Indeed.

Is tomorrow the day we find out truly what our situation is?

i believe so,

one thing i am still unsure about though, this £20 million figure floating about for PSG, is this the original fine or the new negotiated settlement?

or as i suspect is it all bollocks

Re: City & FFP (continued)

When news of city punishment came through I found the most amazing tit bit on sky to be Neil Lennon's comments. With a straight face and full of humility he claimed to fully agree with ffp. This from a man whose teams toughest opponents wash their own kit and get changed in their cars.
