City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Just looking at the latest Forbes club valuation figures, in the last two years they estimate the value of Man City has increased by around £248m (rough estimate)

I wonder how many businesses would spend £150m (our losses from the last two seasons) to increase the value of the company by close to £250m?

Interestingly Liverpool have lost £100m in the same period, their value has gone up by £42m

Re: City & FFP (continued)

This is the answer that UEFA give to the legality http://www.uefa.com/community/news/newsid=2064391.html

9) Is FFP in line with European law?

UEFA has been in permanent dialogue with the European Commission about financial fair play and has received continued support for this initiative. There is also a joint statement from the UEFA President and the EU commissioner for competition, emphasising the consistency between the rules and objectives of financial fair play and the policy aims of the EU commission in the field of state aid.

They can of course claim all they want and the commission can agree with them but it's worthless until tested in law
Exactly. The twats at the EU commission are as bent as these fuckers at EUFA. They all have their noses in the trough so i wouldn't give too much weight to their opinion. It's the ECJ that counts.

Manchester City has been in permanent dialogue with EUFA about financial fair play. Did,t help us any

The EU commissioner said "I fully support the objectives of UEFA's FFP rules as I believe it is essential for football clubs to have a solid financial foundation." They are talking about UEFA's right to bring in restrictions and the objectives of FFP.

It will be blown away on compliance with Free market law which basically trumps everything.

Stay calm and just mow the lawn or something:

i believe so,
Not necessarily so. If as expected we're objecting to whatever their ruling is and it's going to the adjudicatory panel then they may keep it confidential until they rule (by the end of June?). If we don't agree with that either then it'll go to CAS(I think?) which wouldn't become confirmed until not long before next seasons CL starts.

It could be a very long summer.

How in the name of Zeus did PSG get their tourism sponsorship "marked down" as €100m/per year?

Then UEFA Cup/Super Cup holders and Falcao owners Atletico Madrid signed a near-identical contract with Azbaijan's tourism board for €16m/year

Re: City & FFP (continued)

There should be a neutral watchdog style body to investigate these people , like Offwatt or Offgen .
It would obviously have to start with "off " but I can't think of anything to go with it to suit uefa's activities .
Perhaps one of you could think of something ..........
