Re: City & FFP (continued)

Something is not right, we have been in communication with UEFA about FFP from day one and don't we use two blokes who help set up FFPR to make sure we pass so how come we have failed ?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

We've been well and truly shafted.

But I don't see that we can do anything about it other than beating them on the pitch, and when we do it will be even sweeter.

I think the chamber stage is properly neutral if I have that right. Could have little to lose going that road.

It's always been said that there's been an ongoing conversation with UEFA so you do have to wonder what they talked about. You'd assume we'd ask if a £35 million per year sponsorship deal with Etihad would be acceptable and UEFA might have replied but I doubt they'd have given a definitive answer that they couldn't then wriggle their way out of.

Think our top brass would have got a definitive answer, if not then anticipated UEFA wriggle and covered every possibility

Re: City & FFP (continued)

so do we acknowledge uefa's 'right' to arbitrarily make up new rules to protect their favourites by paying up and setting the precedent which condemns us and everyone else to more of the same moving forward?

or do we fight the cartel (as yes we can afford to) on behalf of all clubs who would like the chance of the same opportunity as us one fine day but would be denied it it by uefa if their cartel gets their way and restricts any future opportunities for the vast majority of football clubs unless they can afford to take on and service (or try to) MASSIVE debts of course? In UEFA-world debt is good apparently

it is in footballs interests overall that we deny the biased cunts and fight them all the way

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Think that UEFA and Platini have realised that the club and Sheik Mansour in particular will not accept a compromise deal that they have acted any way illegally. These extra days are just wriggle room as they've realised they've turned up at a gunfight armed with a knife. Even if we have to take this all the way we will get every penny back, everyone who has had a proper look at what HRH has done for the club and Manchester is laughing their arse off at this.

Unfortunately i have already heard for the last couple of years from posters in the know how we needn't worry about FFP, how we will pass, so as far as optimism is concerned you and no one else knows how this will pan out, they are after us and will do everything in their power to succeed so saying they will die on their arse is a guess and a baseless one at that

I know we don't like United much round here, but that's a bit harsh don't you think?

It was just a joke in return mate.
I was referring to the "travellers welcome" bit which I've always wondered why is there but I've only just seen the Abu Dhabi bit and realised it's advertisement! Have I clarkied myself?

It's the strapline for the Abu Dhabi tourist board!
