So what's your thinking lads?

Some saying the UEFA pronouncement delay is a good sign, and that they are going to back down and let us off lightly?

Or is it because they are going to through the book at us and are just double-checking the legal position one last time before they do?

I really don't know how to read this now.

They're waiting for the parade to start

Fuck me! Talk about clutching at straws.

What on earth is that all about!! I hope the author is embarrassed about putting this together.... maybe we could put a league together assuming any shot saved by a non-English goalkeeper counts as a goal.....!

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended his decision to field an entire squad without an English player in the 5-1 win against Crystal Palace.
Wenger fielded the first foreign 16-man squad in English football history because Ashley Cole was ill and Sol Campbell was out injured.

Wenger said: "I didn't know about that until I was told about it.

"I don't look at the passport of people, I look at their quality and their attitude."

I think we should carry on, business as usual and sign whoever we planned on signing, on the assumption that compromise will be found, our punishment will be reduced, or we will win in court. If none of the above come to pass, then we should deal with the consequences such as they are, at the time. Not beforehand, in anticipation.

I think we need to be a bit cannier than that if I'm honest. I agree in principle we shouldn't let UEFA mess with our transfer/squad planning. However equally we need to ensure that we don't end up in a position where we simply can't field a competitive team in next season's competition due to squad restrictions. The issue regarding British players won't go away because even without the restrictions, the loss of Lescott, Richards, and Rodwell will mean we need at least one if not two of our best 16 players to be English.

Here is my take on FFP..............I do not want to take any credit because I found it on another Thread.............................

FINANCIAL FORE PLAY =========
The movement in the doorway was almost imperceptible in the dusk light as David Gill slipped almost silently into the dimly lit room. Shadows cast from the gentle flames on the open log fire danced across the walls, casting enough light for David to see the target of his pent up affections lying motionless amongst the silk sheets adorning the Oak framed four poster bed. David reached to his right and pressed play on the CD player. The strains of J’Taime began to fill the room. On the bed, Platini stirred and turned to look at him, smiling knowingly. David reached over to the drinks cabinet and poured them both a crystal flute of the finest Champagne, then eased him self onto the bed, handing Platini his drink……….

I'm not talking about ignoring EUFA altogether Bill - appealing though that at first seems. Merely not to be put off by the latest hurdle. There were always going to be squad restrictions/requirements applying to all teams, that we need to be cognisant of, irrespective of any sanctions. We need to be mindful of the normal requirements of course.

Embarrassing by the paper but we all know they have an agenda against us bar Samual. They were 1 of only 2 papers (Express) that did not cover us on the front page today with news of the title win. Instead a 3/4 page on if you eat Steak your unlikely to get a mortgage.
