Maybe we don't want FFP defeated?

Sensible post. If we're near break even, why would we ?

Because we might want to buy Gareth Bale for £80m and from now on, we can’t, because it would move ‘break even’ into an FFP loss.

any fee would be amortised over the time of the contract agreed with the player (say 5 years), it would not all be written off in the year of purchase

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Some of you daft fuckers need to get a grip of the situation and read the Clubs Response on the OS,of which this is the defining point to all the negative shit being banded about :

The nature of conditions that will result in the lifting of sanctions means that the Club expects to be operating without sanction or restriction at the commencement of the 2015-16 season.

Importantly all non-financial sanctions agreed to would have been complied with as a natural course of the Club’s planned business operations.

THEY CANNOT TOUCH US IF WE STAY WITHIN A €20M LOSS NEXT YEAR.
Sorry, but everyone seems to be missing that part.

They've changed the goalposts once, do you think they wouldn't again ?

This all day long. It is clear they have already and they will do it again.

well, it's enough for what we need. I don't know but i have a feeling that the rags, arsenal and shit clubs like these aren't very happy, they wanted a more harsh punishment, that would have forced us to sell some of our top players.
plus we can use money from what we sell. mangala 25mln, fernando 15mln and sagna for free. we don't need to spend 60.
We might not need to..but we might want to..Who the fuck are uefa to tell us what we can spend..wankers

And our income stream is rising rapidly..........

Can someone post a quick recap of the sanctions please?? Is this close:

21 man squad restriction next season in CL - Is there a homegrown quota?

£60m Euros spending cap on transfers this summer - Is this a net spend or does it not take into account any money we recoup selling players?

Fined £49 - Is 40m Euros suspending pending us keeping to our part of the bargain?

We haven't been fined.

And the CL squad has the usual homegrown quote. 4 home grown players and 4 players that came through the academy.

no Fabregas or Barkley then, that's a CB, Fernando and Sagna and maybe 1 more mid-card player for 60m, we won't make that much on sales, so I only hope our squad is strong enough considering the money that will be splurged by everyone else.

Clearly our sponsors have urged us not to risk court, and I'm a bit disappointed with our lack of ambition, we only just won the title last season, we need to invest, improve and add substantial depth to the squad.
We don't even know if Fabregas or Barkley are available.

When you consider that we scored more goals than any other top flight European club, our problems aren't in attack. We were always going to spend on defensive type players, and we got lucky Sagna turned out to be free. Not to mention Fernando with the fee already agreed at a cut price.

Even assuming Cesc is available, we'd have to send someone like Jovetic or Negredo to the stands to accommodate him. Hell if we really want him, we can nix our deal for Fernando and sell a few players. Sagna- free, CB-30m, Cesc- 30m + 15m from player sales and a future payment plan.

Our restrictions right now are squad size and player discontent, not money.
