We need to get behind the club on here and everywhere else - we are fighting on two fronts and we will win.

Well I for one will be buying two shirts this year :-)

Our official statement, when summarised, basically says:-

1 - We believe we complied with FFP.

2 - We believe UEFA haven't acted transparently, and have been deceitful and prejudiced against us.

3 - Ideally we'd rip UEFA and FFP to pieces in the courts, but that would impact and reflect badly on our partners and sponsors.

4 - We'll accept the punishment, but ultimately most of it doesn't really affect our plans or the way the club will be run.

Spot on mate. For all the drama queens saying we've been bummed and we should be ripping Uefa a new one, read point 3 VERY carefully.
Our owners are all about reputation and will not be wanting any more bad press win.lose or draw.

5. City won't be able to spend on new transfers for players playing in their CL squad next season. Exact detail not set out.

Nothing like that in the club's statement

Re: City & FFP (continued)

As an example, if we paid Player A £70k a week and renegotiated that up to £90k a week on or after June 1st 2010, we could still exclude the £70k. The statement seems to imply that they have back-tracked on that, hence we aren't allowed to exclude the £80m but a lesser amount. So that's why we believe they've gone back on their word.

Most legislation in Europe cannot be made retrospective, these bastards seem to have breached that principle and got away with it.

So Fernando, Sagna and potentially Mangala will not be allowed to play in the CL and what we have now will?

If that were true then we'd have stated as such on our official response.

Plus we'd have signed Lescott up to a new contract sharpish.

He's equating no rise in the wage bill of the squad to meaning no new players.
