Messi et al won’t be coming unless and until we get this sorted out. It looks like a legal battle is looming, which I would welcome. We may as well have the fight and get it over with. However, until we are through it, big transfers in may be on hold because Messi etc will want European football which we may be excluded from whilst the shit storm rages. In the meantime, I hope Platini, Wenger, Gill, and Blatter all burn to death in a fire at UEFA HQ.

Do you really see UEFA banning us if we signed Messi?

South, North American and Asian viewing figures would significanlty diminish.

Good point. I hadn’t thought of that. Get him fucking signed...!!

Haha :D

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I think City hold all the cards here.

UEFA have lawyers, they will know they are on dodgy ground if City go for the nuclear option.

On the other hand UEFA will believe that City will not want to go to court and will push as hard as they dare for us to accept their 'punishments'

But ultimately City will get a deal they are comfortable with as EUFA's position is weak and they will be forced to back down - they know it and we know it

I reckon they have moved the goalposts and we have been duped into believing we were OK only suddenly for publicity stakes for us to be made an example of. If UEFA have acted underhand I reckon the Sheikh might just go to war. Pure speculation on my part.

Pretty much nail on head rammy. That is what the brewing storm is about. The owner and board are NOT happy!

oh Richards30, you are SO itk

And considering that's what the media are doing then why not?

This sports lawyer seems pretty confident about UEFA backing down over the settlement argument with us.

@JakeFCohen: Pressure is on UEFA, not Manchester City, to reach FFP settlement (UEFA wants to avoid being sued by clubs) - http://t.co/vidvzO5c9T #mcfc

What People have to remember is that UEFA is an invite only competition as far as UEFA are concerned.

Once invited in, City have to play by their rules, ad that of the other cartel clubs. ;-)

Thats a bit like saying you can come to my party as long as you bring drugs..

you have to break the law to gain entry..

fuck me, i've been to those parties :)

Best ones fella..:)

-- Mon May 05, 2014 8:51 pm --

Its in Citys interest to go to court..cos then this whole debarkle can buried forever.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Isn't it funny, we get bought by a guy willing to put insane money into the club and then FFp comes along.

I'm sure he would have spent another 500m if it wasn't for this stupid rule

Manchester City ready to fight against Uefa plan to punish their spending

Unfortunately it's behind a paywall.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Question: is said fine going to be excluded in the calculation for the following year's FFP maths?

If not, surely this is the most counter productive circular load of shit ever.
