City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I can't wait for Platini to piss off the wrong people and lose his backing. He'll penalize some huge club one to many times and lose his politicians. And it WILL happen.

The obvious one is multi club ownership.
As far as I know ADUG only own one club in Uefa's area of authority. FIFA don't appear overly bothered about FFP either way.

Michel Platini, the UEFA president, confirmed that the rules of financial fair play were to be appointed. "I think that the regulations that have been made are fine. Financial fair play was voted by the clubs. The French press called that because it is not normal (...) In France, one can not buy players, and on the other side, the French want a stricter application if the Qatar buys AC Milan, " he has said on RTL adding that "things will be eased" . It is the executive committee of the department which will decide by the end of June, according to Michel Platini.

The cheating, corrupt bunch of fucking pricks. Knew that they'd do this, I hope we fucking mnail them in courts the dickheads

Easy, when it was ourselves and PSG investing, it was a bad thing and UEFA threw the book at us to as much of an extent as they felt secure in doing. Now that it's A.C. and Inter Milan, they're going to 'relax' the rules (i.e. turn a blind eye). Juve should be ready and willing to cause murder over this, they've rebuilt under FFP.

Platini gave an interview which said that he's happy with FFP rules despite French complaints but admitted that there will be an "easing" of the application of them in the future.

Surely if this is the case we will be compensated?

Get real. Ffp will start to cripple clubs and uefa will have to relax the rules but refunding fines will never happen.

The cheques in the post apparently, along with UEFA's (and FIFA's) audited accounts for the last 10 years.

The way how any relaxation of FFP rules will affect City historically will hopefully have been dealt with when the 'compromise' was agreed. I would love to see what has been legally tied up between ADUG and UEFA.

From the future point of view I look forward to any relaxation because at least it is likely to be a step in the right direction to UEFA admitting it has been unfair in the way it currently (and therefore historically) operates.

I'm guessing any relaxation of the rules after what PSG and ourselves received as a punishment will result in lawyers of both clubs getting rather busy.

Its more like the rags have spent 400 million plus what they spend this year and are now back in europe and will fail the laws put in place that's why they are getting relaxed! Gill wouldn't have it any other way!

The 'relaxing' of the rules may well be the price UEFA had to pay to come to an agreement with City at the time of our fine?

The 'pinch' might just be the price accepted by City to put the thing to bed without an expensive legal battle?

I still want the courts to see it off once and for all.

I dont think that's going to happen. Most of the competition lawyers' views that I have read seem to be saying that FFP isn't fundamentally illegal, but they've got the balance wrong.
