City fined £35,000 for anti-doping admin error

For fuck sake I'm not saying that somebody's job should be solely to work out champions league permutations but there should be somebody who is responsible for that along with things like player registration rules, keeping track of cards and suspensions etc. The manager shouldn't have to worry about this shit, it should all be handed to him on plate in advance of every match so that he only needs to worry about the football side of things
Except Pellegrini already knew the rules as he'd been in a similar situation previously.

More likely it was a spot visit as detailed in the FA's anti-doping regs

On occasion, The FA may send officials to training venues in order to verify in any respect
the accuracy of the whereabouts information submitted by a Club or Player. Such
verification may be conducted separately to or in conjunction with drug testing

It's been stated already it was an admin error, if a tester had turned up it would be a missed test, so looks like the official was just there to check the paperwork

The problem is, we're all just guessing, same as the media. I mean, as Fleetwood are facing the same charge at the same time and at the same point Glendon signs for them permanently, one could assume its all to do with that - but we don't know. People on here saying its 3 times in 12 months, but again we don't know for sure, maybe it was 3 times in one day, all related to one player?
Without details we are all speculating. And why on earth does this need to drag on for another week, why can't we just make our plea today and get on with it.

I'm sorry but no. It's the managers bloody job to know that.

Our Administration department are dealing with it......
Just speculating.

I'm not saying the manager here is blameless... I knew before that match what we needed for the various outcome so yes somebody who is being paid (handsomely) to work full time managing a football team should also know. My point though is that it shouldn't ever even be an issue, the club should have systems and people in place to ensure that these type of things don't happen. I'm sure we can afford a competent recent graduate on 25-30k a year to look after this kind of stuff.

Anyway, we are going off topic.

Whatever has caused the problem whether it is an admin error or the fault of players missing appointments or any other reason to fall foul of any football regulation it is a major surprise to me that our ADUG team who were responsible for the Business Plan that beat FFP do not have in place some sort of Internationally Approved and Registered Quality Plan that covers every facet of running any business.

If we do already have such a plan then it obviously does not function correctly on at least 3 occasions.

As predicted by most on here the press went overboard this morning. I bet the Rags, Dippers, Tarquins etc were lapping up the clicks by the bucketful.

If the testers can't find players and tests are missed it's everything to do with doping. Somebody at the club failed to do their job 3 times. Nobody else to blame.

But that wasn't the case. I understand where you're coming from, but the headlines intimate us involved in doping.
Where in reality, it's an admin error. These sort of mistakes DO need ironing out though.
