City fined £35,000 for anti-doping admin error

The have a whole team of nobs to assist. Statisticians etc for this.
Let the specialist specialize and do what they are good at.
Coaching in this case, not football permutations.
Yeah counting to Five and knowing it's a bigger number than four is pretty specialist.

I can't believe people are expecting us to have someone at the club to assist the manager in knowing what we need to do to qualify from a group in the CL!

Pellers and the bloody players should all have known what result was needed, Christ if we need someone to tell them that then we are shoddily run, something i very much doubt.

But that wasn't the case. I understand where you're coming from, but the headlines intimate us involved in doping.
Where in reality, it's an admin error. These sort of mistakes DO need ironing out though.
The point's been made that an "admin error" could be potentially used to cover up more serious issues. So if you knew that a player had a drug issue, either recreational or performance enhancing (and I'm certainly not suggesting that's the case here) you might want to throw drug testers off the scent for a while. We should not be complacent about this but we do need to hear the facts.

And so far City have remained silent over the whole affair which is rather strange as they generally put out a worded statement ... unless they know they`ve fucked up.

They've been charged on failing to keep up to date info:

Regulation 14(d) says:
"It shall also be a breach of this Regulation 14 by the Club if the information contained in such reports is either initially inaccurate or has not been updated by the Club as necessary to ensure it remains accurate."

That it's apparently triggered by a 3rd case is pretty dumb by the club.

I don't think there's any chance that it's about missing tests, as the charge would relate to that, and not 14(d). In fact all of Reg 14 appears to relate to advising on whereabouts and not the testing per se.

The rest of Reg 14 says;
Club whereabouts information:
(a) All Clubs must furnish The FA upon request with any whereabouts information The FA requires from time to time in respect of any Players who are not IRTP Players or NRTP Players. That information shall include as a minimum: (i) training dates; (ii) start and finish times of training; (iii) the address at which such training will take place; and (iv) the home address for a Player and any other address at which a Player regularly resides overnight.
(b) The FA (whether through the Anti-Doping Unit or otherwise) may issue directions from time to time about: (i) the type of whereabouts information to be submitted by Clubs; and/or (ii) the manner and time frame in which such whereabouts information must be submitted.
(c) It shall be a breach of this Regulation 14 for a Club to fail to provide regular details of the times, dates and venues of the Club’s training sessions in the manner directed by The FA

Indeed. To be fair, very few in the away end near me knew either that night. When we went 3-2 up and I announced to everyone around me that 4-2 would have us finishing top of the group, it was met with a lot of puzzled looks!

The way this was announced at first I thought you had a player who had failed a doping test... Pretty misleading reporting really.
