When i read it, "bloke in a wheelchair wearing a city cap" i immediately thought "John Stones"and his prayers came true over the last decade-plus, hope he was still around to witness it..!!
Not exactly John le Carré is it ;-)
You’ve been extremely lucky I’d say. My mum and dad drank in the Dane Bank for years and most of the lads in the vault were reds. Very true. One of the negatives of being a global team, used to be a lot more special seeing a City shirt in a random corner of the globe when we were shite.
I remember being on a back packing trip around the world in 2004. I rarely saw a city shirt or anything. I arrived in Vietnam and was on the Mekong Delta, waiting to board a boat as a group was getting off. One of the lads getting off had a huge City tattoo on his arm. I shouted "love your tattoo mate" and he came over and we had a quick chin wag about the season which had just ended with another near relegation scrap, but stuffing the rags 4-1 at the then COMS. I saw tons of shirts when I went back to Vietnam early this year. One of the negatives of being a global team, used to be a lot more special seeing a City shirt in a random corner of the globe when we were shite.
thats so true!! in my 20's (1994 -2003) i practically lived in my city shirts and wherever i went on holidays, home or abroad, id get the "bloody hell a man city shirt.....why do u support them they are shit" !!Very true.
It was like meeting another member of the exclusive, oppressed minority gang...

I was in Hope Hospital today and saw two different men in City shirts. Spoke to one of them but the other was too far away.
However a few minutes later I saw an acquaintance who happens to be a Trafford fan!!
Ah well 3-1 to us. ;-)
