City games allegedly fixed

No argument there. What blatter did and his cronies is totally different to our debate on refs. A lot of posters are adamant theres a concerted effort to stop us, by any means possible. Wether thats fixing every cup draw, or, which is the current topic. Refs being instructed to make sure we don't win.

The motive is absolutely the same, money. We know how we're trying to be stopped whether it's FFP, fictitious refereeing of our games and our close rivals.

We also know David Gill has or has had a controlling stake in the organisations (UEFA and The FA) at the same time as being on the board of one of our rivals (The Rag Scum), creating a clear conflict of interests. We also know the big European teams (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich) have major problems with ours and PSG's spending power/competition as they have voiced on numerous occasions and it's abundantly clear they all have a big say in the way UEFA is run which is also a conflict of interests in this regard.

However you try to dress it up there a clear and defined motive, as well as clear and defined group who will benefit by us and PSG not being competitive.

You're right about the lengths that are gone to in regulated betting markets to stamp out fraud, but it would seem that a lot of the Far East markets are unregulated and are sometimes used to dupe the customer rather than vice versa.
That's a fair point but as a lot of spot betting is spontaneous it would be difficult to communicate that to the players/officials. Sometimes bookmakers become punters when they get knowledge, e.g., a bookmaker I knew in Hull, Francis Habbershaw, took a credit bet from the owner of the favourite in what was essentially a two horse race. He actually backed the second favourite ignoring his own horse. Second fav was 9/4, Francis lumped on and trousered significant wonga. Because he was a bookmaker no one thought anything if it, he was in their eyes laying his liabilities but if he did it on a regular basis he would be found out. Same in the Far East, they could get away with it a few times but after a while their ruse would be bubbled, I'm really not convinced there is any financial corruption on a large and sustained scale.

There's a difference between acknowledging that corruption in football exists, as it clearly does, and specifically accepting that there is a concerted effort amongst PL referees to cheat City. They are two separate arguments.

Why does everyone who says there is no conspiracy say it is just City the refs are cheating. It isn't, it is pro the old top 4 against all the other clubs.
First only a few years ago refs were on three and fourpence a match and a pie at half time. Along came the money and they decided to form PiGMOL, a virtual closed shop where they now make very good money.
All you need is $ky to tell the Prem League that they need the established top 4 for revenue and therefore a huge contract for the Prem League. They in turn say to PiGMOL go easy on the top four, we need their stars playing to ensure big TV audiences, (note not hammer City - go easy on the established four teams)
PiGMOL say to their refs, do you fancy the Rags v Chelsea, a FA Cup final nomination and a World Cup game or two, if you do follow our directive. That is why we along with the 'smaller' clubs get a disproportionate number of bad decisions against us, disproportionate compared to the old top four. It does not have to be about brown envelopes, it is about protecting your career and bank balance.

City do not have a big fan base, there I have said it. We do not get the TV audience that the old top four do that is why we are rarely on at 4pm on a Sunday. They want to sell the Prem league to Asia where there are millions of Rags/Dippers. People keep saying well why didnt Chelsea suffer when they got the money. As we know 4 teams qualify for the Champs League so they slotted in nicely.

Without a doubt there is a vested interest within top level football in this country to keep the 'Established' 'History Boys' 'Top London Clubs' at the forefront of the Premier League product. If that involves fixing it takes it to a different level but without a shred of doubt we are treated far worse by officials than any of the aforementioned and have been as soon as we became a threat.

The media also take this standpoint as is plainly obvious by the angles they report on us in relation to our immediate rivals. I do wonder how the more contrary City fans on this thread come to the conclusion everything is on an even footing when they see how we are treated in matches and by apparently unbiased commentators by various media outlets.

We once scored after 13 seconds at Old Toilet and all Tyler could mutter was 'They've scored' followed by deathly silence while we celebrated. Imagine if the shoe had been on the other foot. Who would've cleaned up the mess.

All is not fair and right with most things in this world and football in this country is one of them. But before someone says it I ain't going anywhere cos it makes it all the sweeter when we win.

Basically it is one big gravy train and we really wasn't invited.

Seems very sensible to me what you say here mate.

But in the Far East there's a lot more unregulated, i.e. Illegal, gambling going on.
As you know most punters put money on the favourite and so the bookie cleans up when the favourite takes a tumble.

But they also spectacularly failed to keep that secret, hence the scandal. It's always possible that the same could come out here but keeping a conspiracy like that quiet for long is impossible. Too many people involved. Same with FIFA, the stories were appearing long before the eventual crisis hit.
Not necessarily so.
Mr savilles secret was kept for 4 decades by a corporation which employed thousands and thousands of staff ,and the truth only emerged after he died
Nothing to do with football, but an example of wrong play, covered up ,which ,quite frankly, blows a hole in your rather naive argument that it cant be happening if no one admits its happening.
There are numerous signs that our game is rotten to the core, but if u want to believe in fairytales (well done leicester city by the way,the 5000/1 outsiders, lol) you crack on mate.

They are NOT two seperate arguments.
Scudamore.sept 2016"we have put plans in place to ensure there are diff winners of the premier league"
What does that even mean? Every football fan who buys into the prem product should be asking thsmselves this question, every skngle last one of you.
Why did Howard Webb take over at pigmol just as one of the worst teams ever to grace the prem, bottom of the table leic embark on a SEVEN MATCH WINNING RUN,and resign his role within hours of the final whistle a year later after the battle of the bridge,a match which confirmed the title went to leicester?
Putting the above strands of evidence together.....We dont want any team dominating, not like utd did for years,or liverpool before them...we understand City are now powerful, but we dont want them (for a very good reason which is too sensitive to fully articulate here)....two birds with one stone.
There are of course many other background strands of foul play operating simultaneously in the game, nofhing to do wifh the above scenario, which just makes the cesspit of corruption even even wider and deeper, but lets just stick with the two major themes which ,imo, casts doubt on your assertion that cheating city and general football corruption as it exists today are two seperate arguments.
