Thats all part of the fun finding them is`nt it ;) after paying exhorbitant prices of £1-00 a pint in the square its nice to stumble across places at 85p a pint for much better ale than we get over here.

Let me ask you a question about pubs, but in Manchester. Any friendly pubs near piccadilly to feel before and after match experience ;) We will stay 4 days in Manchester so we need a little advice on restaurants and pubs (good but not too expensive - regarding beer and food)

Right lets begin Ancoats Street were your Travellodge is, to your left cross road to swan street you have The Fringe Bar,The Burton Arms,The Smithfield(good selection of real ales )plus you have Chillies which is a cracking little curry house plus great kebabs.

The Crowne & kettle bottom of oldham road opposite the hotel have some good ales in there. then you have Oldham street plenty of bars on that street The Castle and The City Arms are worth a visit.Bottom of Oldham Street is Piccadilly plenty of bars there.

Paying about £2.00-£3.50 pint. Hope this helps.

For before the match it's probably best to start in Shambles Square (<a class="postlink" href="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&biw=1366&bih=653&q=shambles%20square%20manchester&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&biw ... =N&tab=wl#</a>) and then nearer to kick off there are enough pubs around the ground that are friendly, I go in this one called the Corner Shop <a class="postlink" href="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&biw=1366&bih=653&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=the+corner+shop+pub+manchester&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=the+corner+shop+pub&hnear=Manchester,+Greater+Manchester&cid=18381335877646400179" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl= ... 7646400179</a>

Thanks for the advice!
We will definitely visit The Fergie Bar. On Thursday after the match, looking for a pub that will be open until last customer, means us ;]
As for the Shambles Square, that's for sure we will be there before sunday's match between Man City & Arsenal.
If I can, I have one more question. Any pub or club with pool/snooker table or dart near the Ancoast street?

On Thursday night this bar is always lively and will be open until late <a class="postlink" href="http://www.revolution-bars.co.uk/oxfordroad" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.revolution-bars.co.uk/oxfordroad</a>
