City in the UEFA Cup 76-79

Did all those home games, you missed Valencia out of your list.

Milan away game on the radio at School, it was PE at game time so easy to listen.

Nicky Read I think made his debut v Gladbach as we had loads of injuries.....when its spring again, bollocks to Amsterdam sung with vigour in the Dutch game, how times change.
Wasnt Valencia 72?

Our maths teacher was and I believe still is a City season ticket holder and had the AC Milan game on the radio in class
Funny. I was in primary school at the time and i remember clearly Mr Slatery had radio on his desk so we could listen to this while cutting pictures out od shoot magazines.

My first ever European game ... City v Juventus, UEFA Cup 1st round, 1976. What a draw to get 1st round !!! My overriding memory of that match is how the Kippax seemed to be cram packed. Felt sure it was a 50k crowd, and being suprised to read the next day it was only around 42k. Fantastic atmosphere and Kiddo got the only goal of the game. Remember feeling it wouldn`t be enough for the 2nd leg, and sadly it wasn`t.

Kicked the absolute shit out of us the 1st half hour notably Barnes,Gentile & Benetti being the main culprits...

Yes was the first time I was allowed to go to a night game with my mates, I was 9. I do remember that the kippax seemed to be rammed, definitely more so than a normal league game, but I'm sure when I have looked it up the official attendance was only thirty odd thousand. Swales was doing the counting then though. Got lost after the game trying to get to Wilmslow Road, ended up on Princess Parkway and had to phone my mates dad from a call box. Don't remember the game at all, but I had a programme from it signed by Dennis Tueart.

I remember listening to the Standard Liege home game on the radio and I think we were only 1-0 up intil about the last 5 minutes then scored another 3 quick goals.
