City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

My understanding is that City have abstained from voting in both the introduction of APT in Nov 2021 and the RPT amendments in February 2024.

I think the reasoning was by voting either way then they would be giving credibility to rules they believed to be unlawful.

If the PL goes ahead with this vote tomorrow then I believe City will abstain once again.
City will surely vote against, rather than abstain.

As others have said, the vote doesn't really matter as City will presumably take action to delay implementation until after the tribunal's final judgment anyway.

But you never know with votes. Abstentions may still play a big part. Only need three if six vote against. And a defeat for the PL would be funny as fuck.

I think we'll lose the vote tomorrow with Everton and Wolves rumoured to be changing their position compared to last time. It'll not be the end of the matter though as City will just challenge it again. Cue for more multi-millions costs to lining the lawyers pockets.

City can’t be sending letters?

Fuck off you silly little ****.
To be fair I’m not sure he quite said that, if you listen to it in context he seemed to be saying the P/L can’t be in a position or shouldn’t be where a club in this case us and the P/ L are sending out these kind of letters to each other and it’s members. Seemed to be blaming the PL for the situation more than us, and the whole piece he wasn’t far off and admitted he’d changed his tune.

I wonder what advice the prems legal team are telling them ? I would expect them to be giving advice to not break the laws of the land, and i realise that they can only advise and not force the prem to take their legal advice, so at what point do the prems legal team walk away? After all if the client is not listening to your advice what is the point of advising them? All thats going to happen is you tarnish your own reputation by being associated with them .
I do realise they are making a lot of money out of the prem but professional reputation has to play a part .
Lawyers never walk away as long as the clock is still clicking and the till is still ringing.
