City Live

Oh God. Just read this.

Garry Cook lives on. Release the cheese.

At £25+ I'd be surprised if they don't have a half empty hall for this one.

if this thread is a reasonable reflection of rest of the clubs support , they're gonna be lucky if the much hoped for 10,000 show up !

keep your eye on the ticket and travel thread to see what's selling and who is and buying

this gig is doomed to success as MCFC will paper the house to make sure its full

Ha, hadn't thought of that! Like when he had the new signings run into the stadium and give him a big hug?!

He loved all that American "Woop Woop" stuff. Looks like it's back.

I don't understand.

They have a venue to book, security/events management etc, then the music and comedy acts etc, probably a host. There is a lot of expense that goes into booking an event like this.

I don't understand why people don't expect to be charged.

It costs more than £25 for a music gig, or comedy gig. You're getting both in one, with a few surprises i'm sure, and it's all City themed. May not be everyones cup of tea, but great for the kids and I can think of worse events to spend £25 on.

People expect too much for free/little money nowadays - like Mark said, they have acts that I'm sure will be commanding decent fees as well as all the other expenses. Your getting 3 things for £25 - City, Music and Comedy - definitely my cup of tea.

Regarding music acts - Beady Eye springs to mind but it would be magnificent if Noel plays. Doubt we could have both.

Apart from the opening line 'the mother of all parties' I fail to see the cheese? A 'launch party' is a significantly different event to a 'party' as well.

So it's just for the supporters then nothing to do with making money ?

On no, the club couldn't possibly want to make money could it. For shame City, for shame.

Well obviously they will make money from it to make it worth the effort. If they were more interested in making money from it they could have charged more. I don't mind doing my part and putting money in the club's pocket if it helps with FFP and all the building plans etc.
