You're right!I know it’s not quite as good a story but there is a ‘prefer not to say’ option to all those questions.
Sure that will get the same consideration and filed accordingly.

spot on. The fact is City have more of an incentive now to make it work giving City Matters considerably more leverage than before. I am sure that at some point the FAB/CM's will be asked for an assessment of how it is working that the club cannot suppress and the club will be fully aware of that. There’s many legitimate critiques to be made of City Matters, but I’d like to think that being free to publicly criticise the Club isn’t one of them - at least in recent times.
As I tried to set out in my foreword, Fan Advisory Boards are here to stay - the Premier League and Club are fully signed up to the idea. So, in my view, the Club wouldn’t have much impetus to engage with any new group as the main outlet for fan feedback. That’s not to say that new supporter groups wouldn’t be a valued addition - for example, the guys at the foodbank group do a great job and I try to work closely with them. But it is to say that trying to reform City Matters as much from the inside, and setting the group up to be as successful as possible, is in all of our interests.
I hear you - and I appreciate all you and the other CM folks try and do....but....the fact that the nomination process is controlled by the club invalidates any 'independence' whatsoever. Time for a formal Supporters Trust. There’s many legitimate critiques to be made of City Matters, but I’d like to think that being free to publicly criticise the Club isn’t one of them - at least in recent times.

The Club are obsessed with data like this, as it tells them who has attended, used ticket transfer, ticket exchange or not used their ticket at all. According to the Club, 16,000 season ticket holders didn't attend the Burnley match at home last season. As a result, they can work out whether they need to promote the transfer and exchange platforms, or in the case of no shows, implement rules such as the need to attend (or list/exchange) 14 matches to retain a season card bar mitigating circumstances.Just a question regarding an e mail I received from the club yesterday and wondered if anyone else got one. It told me I was in the top 2% for matches attended last season along with other match facts (actually my lowest attendance for quite a few years ,covid apart).Question to Alex on City matter's,are they collating this information for any reason?
If that is true, then it's just poor all round from fans and club alike. I'm sure there would have been 16,000 local Mancunians who would have took up the slack. The Club are obsessed with data like this, as it tells them who has attended, used ticket transfer, ticket exchange or not used their ticket at all. Yeah but in their wisdom they decided to charge £63 for the tickets. So not many people picked up the slack. If that is true, then it's just poor all round from fans and club alike. I'm sure there would have been 16,000 local Mancunians who would have took up the slack.
That is shocking!... According to the Club, 16,000 season ticket holders didn't attend the Burnley match at home last season...
Do they know it’s this figure because either the season card wasn’t activated on match day or the cards were listed on the exchange? Attendance was just over 53k so most seats taken. Find it hard to believe that so many didn’t attend despite it being midweek in January but I assume the club would be delighted to increase revenue by reselling at a higher price. The data they should be obsessed with is how many local fans they have priced out, how can the next generation of fans afford to watch and how many current fans are they pissing off by not engaging. The Club are obsessed with data like this, as it tells them who has attended, used ticket transfer, ticket exchange or not used their ticket at all. At this point in any survey I always give up.Got the Club email email about applying to join City Matters. Clicked the link out of curiosity.
Apparently, before applying, it's vital the club know:-
your ethnicity,
your sexual preference,
your non-binary status,
your disability,
Yeah - not a tick box exercise - no Sirree.
I'm thinking it can't possibly be true can it? 16,000?I know it’s a state secret exactly how many ST holders there are. But what do we reckon 16,000 represents very roughly, about 40%?
It's not really a secret. There are about 36-37k season ticket holders.I know it’s a state secret exactly how many ST holders there are. But what do we reckon 16,000 represents very roughly, about 40%?

I’m not surprised there’s a lot of season ticket holders who are only interested in maybe 7 games a season. They pay for it so are entitled to do as they wish. That is shocking!
Just looked it up. Game was Wednesday 31st January 2024.I’m not surprised there’s a lot of season ticket holders who are only interested in maybe 7 games a season. They pay for it so are entitled to do as they wish.
Unfortunately due to games such as Burnley it will be the clubs excuse as to why they don’t want to boost SC’s sold.
I do think and it’s only my opinion but the club will start taking the approach of our shit neighbours with tickets gradually but it will happen and those who pick and choose games may be the ones who suffer.
Be interesting if Alex could attain figures from the club over how many season tickets are cancelled due to them not meeting the games used threshold? I know Arsenal published something similar.
I’ll got to every game do I blame people for avoiding Burnley and midweeks games not at all, unfortunately due to the empty seat jibe and the club doing its best to have a better image I think we can expect tougher ticket processes in the future.
Theres a degree of apathy and expectancy at times which I don’t like, we never used to have. Then again the footballs a bit better now :)
In one sense, I don't have an issue with SC holders not attending games, as long as they pass on their tickets, or at least list them on the exchange. Not everyone can attend every game, particularly midweek ones. That's why I proposed the flexible season ticket, where people had to say they wanted the seat, rather than just not use it. Some people just don't make their ticket available though and I believe it's right that these people are sanctioned.I’m not surprised there’s a lot of season ticket holders who are only interested in maybe 7 games a season. They pay for it so are entitled to do as they wish.

It doesn't mean that there were 16k empty seats, just that this number either didn't use their ticket at all, transferred it or put it on the exchange. From my memory of the Burnley game we were not missing 16K. We had not been at home for 3 and a half weeks and it seemed like a good crowd to me on the night. Few empty seats that you always get but 16K? Think this might be a case of club trying to spin another one.
