oh when did we beat villa??
sorry but this is city. anything can happen especially the way were playing atm

I cannot believe some of the comments. "Should" be going to Wembley?? Why so? Villa are a Premier League side that beat you 3 weeks ago and Reading are a tough outfit that have just won at Goodison. City have not won a thing in decades but now you "should" beat everyone that comes your way. Sounds a bit presumptuous to me.
You beat us but we absolutely played you off the park that day, just as we did a few weeks before when we stuck four past you. The league table says we are a much better side.
But this is the cup, and this is City. Anything could happen, especially with Clattenburg in charge.
So presumptuous, no. Confident, yes. Fearful, definitely.

We're no more excited than you are to potentially have Reading instead of Everton in the quarters. The one thing City fans never do is take anything for granted. Tomorrow night is all to play for...for both of us.

Re: Reading it is...

Before we all start getting nervous with the typical City shit can we remember that we have a manager who is desperate to win and a squad of players full of winners. What we can do without is the fans being nervous and spreading that to the team tomorrow night. Mancini will be working hard tomorrow to get the players in the right frame of mind. Tevez, Yaya, Silva, Dzeko, Zabaleta, Kolo, Mario, Kompany and Kolorov are all winners and they will not be going out onto the pitch tomorrow thinking of anything else. Get behind them and we've got a fantastic chance. The time for self belief has come.

Re: Reading it is...

Villa will be up for this tomorrow

Especially as the Blue side of brum now have a pot

Re: Reading it is...

Please please City don't screw this up. How many times have we seen later rounds in the cup and thought that would have been us playing them if only we'd beat whoever.

I predict Richard Dunne will have a say in this. Either a bullet header from a corner for them or hopefully he'll pay us back and go and shin one into his own goal.

Beating blackburn at home makes you barcelona does it???? one result doesn't make you a great side, so back in your box. nobody has said we WILL get through, just that we would be pissed off not to get through, taking 2 home ties into account. as im sure the villa fans would be if you were playing us at your place, followed by reading.

Who mentioned Blackburn? I know that I didn't. My point was that is such an air of inevitability about City winning (according to most posts on this site since the draw) and if you don't it will be "typical City" with no regard to a decent Prem side like us actually, possibly playing well and deserving to win. We are not "Barcelona" far from it but then neither are City. How many games did it take to beat Notts County and Leicester?

EDIT; And btw, LOADS of people have said that City WILL win on here. Loads. And to tbh I think you will too, just the arragonce of some is mind boggling since the Sheikh arrived.

LOL. What the fuck are we suppossed to say? We're underdogs in a match against Villa? Yeah, you're a decent, good side, but we're fucking better. And it won't be completely fair if we don't win tomorrow, but it happens. That's the magic of football.

We need to be optimistic. We have every right to be.
