I really, really hope we get this guy. Serious talent and with a couple years of guidance we're talking about the next Drogba.

Aguero
Balotelli
Dzeko
Lukaku

Would be a brilliant strikeforce. There's a wide array of talent and playing styles and we could play loads of different formations with those four
While I agree, the fact that we predominantly use 1 striker worries me. Either we move to 2 strikers or 3 or we really can't manage 4 premier talents on the team.

And let's be honest, those 4 are premier talents.
True. But I doubt Lukaku would expect to get games right away. Though if Bobby is going to only play with one striker then Aguero would be the better choice for now, but i think Lukaku could be an incredible player and it'd be a shame to miss out on him

We may know soon one way or the other

Belgian starlet Romelu Lukaku has confirmed he hopes his future will be resolved as early as next week.

Chelsea have long been leading the chase for the 19-year-old, who is valued at around £20million by his club Anderlecht.

He has also been strongly linked with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham as he previously revealed he wanted to move to the Premier League.

And Lukaku has revealed that he looks set to join one of England's top clubs next week ahead of his college exams.

He also insists he wants to play in the Champions League - which would rule out Liverpool and Spurs.
Deadline

"I would like my future settled by next Monday," said Lukaku, who will play for Belgium in their Euro 2012 qualifer with Turkey this weekend.

"My college exams start the next day and I don't want any other concerns.

"I'll be going to one of the top two or three clubs in England - or else I'll stay at Anderlecht.

"I want to leave, because I want to score goals in a stadium where there are 50,000 people, and play in the Champions League."

Chelsea look to be very much in the driving seat as they are also involved in talks over Gent star Kevin de Bruyne.

As part of the Lukaku deal they look set to loan De Bruyne to Anderlecht for at least two seasons.

The "50,000 people" rules out Chelsea then !

Technically rules us out too, though I'm sure we can tell a little porky and include the stewards and bar staff.

He loves Chelsea, surely off to them? But they want Neymar too and are supposed to be heavy favourites, plus Drogba has been offered a contract to see out his career there. So will they have/keep all of: Torres, Drogba, Sturridge, Neymar, Lukaku (assuming Anelka and Kalou are sold)?
Kalou staying

Lukaku's coming to us to be backup to Torres & Drogba.. 2 players fighting for each position next season... Lukaku will have to wait until the ANC to properly fight, won't get ahead of Nando/Didier.

---------------------Drogba/Torres------------------------
Malouda/Neymar---Pastore???/Benayoun-----Sturridge/Kalou

If Tevez leaves I think this is the perfect third striker IMO.

If we get him and Tevez leaves then we have Dzeko as a pure striker with Lukaku as backup. We also have Balo and let's say another striker who can play both wing and striker (like Aguero?).

So we got four strikers, two pure/targetmen and two ballplayers who can play wide aswell. Perfect amount to mix and match IMO:-)

Do we really need him when Mancini prefer to play with ONE striker ONLY ?
IF balotelli sorts his knee out, he will play regularly next season. Whether it will be as an out and out forward remains to be seen. Tevez was the sole forward because he was the sole decent forward we had until Balotelli was available, and until Dzeko was signed.

Technically it doesn't rule us out as there is quite a possibility we will play at a stadium with 50,000 people in the CL where Lukaku can score goals. 8-)
