City: the Current Premier League Table

Table only really starts taking shape around 15 games in. I would still bet that the top three will be us, Chelsea and United in whatever order although the other big three do look impressive and I think Arsenal have won 17 in 21 games so who knows. Too early to say yet though.
15 games??? Does everyone know this??????????

I think he means once the true title contenders have found their way up from the bottom of the ocean , and the early season pacesetters have had their arses dusted and whooped!

I got that, BM. I was just being a nob toward a few fans who think we've already lost the league and will never ever win a game ever ever again

I can see the arsenal being the team to beat. Everyone knows they'll be busy looking for a centre half and a forward in the January transfer window. We need to sort out our away form quickly and stop this over confidence complacent shit that's going on. Let's be professional and do everything we can to grind out the win like we should've done against Cardiff and villa.

It's ridiculous to make predictions based on form this season so far. As much as anything there is no historical basis for comparison. When was the last time the top 3 changed Manager's together? There is always a Cinderalla team doing well up to Christmas or so. Is it Everton, Spurs or Arsenal this season? You'd have to think Everton; their loan players being unavailable in the big games will hurt them.

Arsenal's squad is too thin and they appear to be the most injury prone, so I suspect they may fade late on. I think Spurs are the real deal and Liverpool too will contend for top 4 with City, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal. The rags will probably improve 2nd half but I don't think they will have enough unless Arse and Liverpool really hit the skids.

It will be a bumpy ride, but the cream will again rise to the top, which means City and Chelsea at the death.

Although it's fairly open at the moment I still expect it to come down to a race between us and Chelsea. With Arsenal and Spurs fighting it out for 3rd and 4th.

With all the new managerial and player changes this summer it is going to take a while for us and Chelsea to find our feet but find them we will.

Liverpool and Everton have both started well and I expect them along with the rags to fight it out for 5th - 7th.
I like your optimism. But I sincerely believe it is a 6 way tossup. One of the 6 will fall away eventually. But I think the top 5 would all be within 6 points of each other.

it is in fact you that is being optimistic.

A 2 way fight between us and Chelsea, with Utd just behind, and the rest fighting for 4th was always going to be the case.

Of course, this wont eventuate until the 2nd half of the season.

There is always a debate at the start of the season about it being "open" but it's groundless. The teams are close together by the nature of the fact that it's very difficult to generate points gaps in 6 games.
At last someone who agrees with me on this

We have to concntrate on each game, for the full game, pressing hard and closing down all the time. If we take any other team lightly, we end up fighting united for fourth spot. Get that defence right and we stand an excellent chance of winning the premiership.

I really don't know how to call it. You would think it would come down to us, rags or Chelsea with the other pretenders falling away as usual.

But who knows. Everyone is writing Liverpool off, and yet we forget how well Brendan Rogers had Swansea playing with no resources. His Liverpool squad is way weaker than ours or the other two above, but he only needs 11 players and luck with injuries and suspensions (lack of them, that is) and then 11 is enough. And they did strengthen well in the window too, spending around £50m iirc.

I don't expect Liverpool in the top 3, but really I would not rule it out.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal can sustain their start. As others have said, they've been in good form throughout 2013. I think everyone put too much significance on their defeat to Villa, which was the exception rather than the norm.

They clearly do not currently have the squad depth to sustain a title challenge. But if they're still leading the pack at Christmas they have the resources to bring in a couple of quality players.

They have certainly turned it on since the opening day defeat
I think many wrote them of aft that,me included

12 away wins on the bounce is pretty impressive
