The next 3 games are huge now for us.

Everton h
West Ham A
Chelsea A

Arsenal next 3

West Brom - A
Norwich - H
Palace - A

Spurs have West Ham, Villa and Hull - 2 at home

Now you would have to expect Arsenal will pick up a minimum of 6 points there, more likely 7 and not totally out of the question 9.

I think we need to be looking at 6/7 to stay in touching distance.

We cannot afford to go 10 points behind a team as good as Arsenal at this stage of the season.

I'm a bit concerned about the next few games. Other teams have a much easier run than us and, given our away form (and general record against Everton) I think we might struggle to stay in touch at the top.

I think we need 9 points to stay in touch and I'm very doubtful we'll get them. Hopefully Pellegrini has a plan to deal firstly with Barkley and Lukaku and then with our away form.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal can sustain their start. As others have said, they've been in good form throughout 2013. I think everyone put too much significance on their defeat to Villa, which was the exception rather than the norm.

They clearly do not currently have the squad depth to sustain a title challenge. But if they're still leading the pack at Christmas they have the resources to bring in a couple of quality players.
This is a fallacy that media heads are parroting. They not only do have the Squad depth. They are currently winning with that depth.

GK: Szsny, Viviano, Fabianski
LB: Gibbs, Monreal
RB: Sagna Jenkinson
CD: Mertasacker, Vermaelen, Kolcienly
CM: Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey, Diaby, Frimpong
AM: Carzola, Ozil, Park Chu Young
Wide: Walcott, Ox, Gnabry, Miyaichi, Rosisky
FW: Giroud, Podolski, Bendner, Sanogo

The highlighted, signifies those whohave missed games due to injury, or who are still injured. I mean if that is not depth, I don't know what is. It seems folks are expecting Arsenal to be permanently injured for the whole season. As that is the only way they fall off it seems. They are currently playing with 1/3 of the team on a knock.

When are they supposed to fall off? When everyone is back? Or are we simply praying for Wilshere and Oezil to go down at the same time?

I hate this feeling that we aren't garanteed pionts anymore even against west ham, what needs to happen for our players to realise that every match is important. atleast we'll easily beat chelsea.

Although it's fairly open at the moment I still expect it to come down to a race between us and Chelsea. With Arsenal and Spurs fighting it out for 3rd and 4th.

With all the new managerial and player changes this summer it is going to take a while for us and Chelsea to find our feet but find them we will.

Liverpool and Everton have both started well and I expect them along with the rags to fight it out for 5th - 7th.
I like your optimism. But I sincerely believe it is a 6 way tossup. One of the 6 will fall away eventually. But I think the top 5 would all be within 6 points of each other.

never, ever put this in to a google search...

Arsenal are a big threat (fuck me...imagine saying that 10 years ago). They have quality and depth. I'd have signed Ramsey from Cardiff years ago. He's a majestic player. Or I could still be pissed. Anyway, their midfield aint nothing to fuck with.

Right now the big advantage Arsenal have is that they've been playing the same way for years now. Whereas Spurs are bedding in a bunch of new players and are only starting their second season with AVB, City, United, Chelsea have new managers altering the style of play. Puts Arsenal at somewhat of an advantage. I still think they lack the goals required to win the league. Ramsey is a top player and is indeed on fire ... however he'll have to sustain that form all season for them to sustain a title challenge IMO.

Yeah like Silva for us. I really rate him. The pundits must hate he's Welsh. Top player. So under-rated.. But yeah, you're pretty much spot on in your assessment. Spurs are another one I'd look out for. This year will be top for the neutral. As a blue, fuck!

I am sure all Arsenal supporters wouldn't have thought 8 seasons ago that they would be trophyless from then on and the fact they now head the table having won 5 games in a row and having the accumulated the most points since Jan1 doesn't make up for this in any way shape or form.

Even if they won the title this year it wouldn't make up for their lack of success in the past eight years sacrificing on field performance for off field performance.
