No, I didn't go to Sunderland, I watched it on TV/Internet & in the 2nd half we got done over.
er,we lost to a 93 min pen that should have been off side , I thought we played quite well ,credit to sunderland they also played well,we dont have a right to win every game because we,ve spent a few quid, by the way who is the right manager ..dont say mourinho he aint coming here..well not yet anyway

Yes we lost to a 93rd minute pen but Sunderland did us over from half time.

As for who's the right person, yeah Mourinho would be perfect but I think we've missed the boat on that one & his next club will be United. If we were going to get him I think it had to be last summer.

I would say someone with a pedigree in British football or at least with a good idea of British football. Who that would be, I've no idea - but preferably not Martin O'Neill.

So you think Mancini isnt the right man for the job but you have no clue who is.

I think you should be chairman buddy.

read that...as for the manger we have (imo)the right one, he,s made some mistakes and he maybe a bit negative but he,s in a new job and league give the guy a chance, he took a team who had won nowt to winning 3 league titles, what more do you want?who has better credentials than that who will come to us.

The problem here isnt Mancini, he is a class manager who has a proven track record. The issue is the players who see themselves as bigger than the club, cant be arsed with putting in the effort and are there for the payday. Quite simply get rid of the trouble makers and move on. We must stick with Mancini. if we get rid of him a little bit of my love for city will dissapear.

It's not my job to find a new manager, in the same way it's not my job to sack a manager, but it doesn't stop me having an opinion.

As was discussed after West Brom, what he did in Italy is completely irrelevant to what he does here - it's like comparing apples & oranges.

This is a couple of old posts I made from threads at that time

Sorry, he's not a shit manager & the opening post proves this, however IMO he's not the right person to manage at City or even in England.

Comparing achievements in different countries is like comparing apples & pears. Rangers are the most successful club in the world, but are they fuck better tham Barca, Real, United, Chelsea etc etc

This is Walter Smith's record

Rangers

* Scottish Premier League (9): 1990–91, 1991–92, 1992–93, 1993–94, 1994–95, 1995–96, 1996–97, 2008–09, 2009–10
* Scottish Cup (5): 1991–92, 1992–93, 1995–96, 2007–08, 2008–09
* Scottish League Cup (5): 1992–93, 1993–94, 1996–97, 2007–08, 2009–10

Scotland

* Kirin Cup (1): 2006

A fantastic record, but would you want him as City manager?

I can see what you're saying, but I disagree to an extent. I do think there's such a thing as an "English/British game" that is different to continental Europe. I also think if Ferguson had left Aberdeen & went to Real Madrid he'd not as successful as he's been at the Swamp.

We have very few English/British players who make it abroad, the last was Beckham and even then he wasn't as good at Real as he was at United. Look at Owen, scored for fun in the Prem, went to Spain & couldn't get a game & has come back half the player he was.

All in all, I don't think Mancini is right for City, but I really hope I'm wrong & we are successful as a club - that's far more important than who does/doesn't like the manager.

Of course we can question the manager but the players supposedly calling the shots need addressing regardless of what happens to the manager. Personally, I think the club need to stick with Mancini at least until the end of the season, almost regardless of results. The players causing problems need to be out of the club in January, if not before. None of them can outlast Mancini imo or the club could suffer the consequences for quite a long time. The thing that I cannot get out of my head in all of this is that imo, whatever Mancini is doing, he is in his own mind doing it for the best for MCFC. I don't agree with everything he does but clearly he wants City to succeed, even if it is for selfish reasons. I certainly don't think that could be said for any players causing trouble. We need to remember this when we're deciding who to blame and who should be afforded time and who should be bombed out of the club.

I'm sure the players want City to succeed as much as Mancini - again probably for selfish reasons.
As a manager, Mancini should be able to manage the players - IMO it's his job to sort out the problems in the dressing room & (what seems to be) his attitude of I'm right everyone else is wrong and it's my way or no way is not working.

I don't agree. Any players who want to destabalise the club by spreading rumours or undermining the manager, do not want what is best for City imo. It is different for a manager, he has to want the club to win games as that is what he is judged on. For players, some of whom may not even be in the team, City winning could almost be irrelevant (in their fucked up heads). I have already mentioned something from Niall Quinn's book in this thread and I think it is established that players sometimes don't want their club to win, as absurd as that would seem to most of us. Essentially, I can accept that Mancini will make mistakes, clearly he has to learn from them and try to improve his and the team's performances. If he doesn't learn from his mistakes then he will at some point pay the price. However, players deliberately causing the club problems do not deserve any time to sort themselves out. They are a disgrace and there should be no second chances for them.

All about opinions I suppose, but the only other time I have had any knowledge of this kind of thing was when Paul Le Guen was at Rangers. He was doing shit, he lost the dressing room, there were constant leaks etc etc He then got fired, Rangers brought in someone who knew the British game and things turned round.

Sometimes it's 5 players that are wrong, sometimes it can be one manager & we can all have opinions on what way it is.
