City to axe Mancini

Don't be ridiculous. It's not rugby. it's exactly the same skill set involved.

You going to tell me that Mourinho, Hiddink, Capello's foreign trophies were all meaningless as regards their fitness to manage in the Premier League?

The SPL doesn;t come into it, because there's only 2 teams in that, but Serie A is, or certainly was one of Europe's top Leagues. The Premier league is above all else an international League

Mourinho is an exceptional manager and tbf so is Hiddink. How exactly did Capello cope with his first real test???

The British game is completely different to the Italian or Spanish game, and if you can't see that, then you are being deliberately obtuse.

Look at the Spurs game last season at home. Do you think any manager with a high knowledge of the British game would have played the tactics Mancini played?

As said above, it works both ways very few British managers could do it abroad, as I said Ferguson would never have been as successful if he'd left Aberdeen to go to Madrid/Milan etc.

.

infact is exactly a british manager wich won last EPL and is leading the actual isn't he ?

There was nothing wrong with the tactics Mancini played against Spurs.

Sorry I disagree, we should have attacked a lot more - we needed the win after the result the weekend before (when we stood off far too much as well incidentaly)

There are some differences between the English and European Leagues, but increasingly these are disappearing because of the number of foreign coaches and footballers. Of course there are some nuances, but to dismisss a manager's record abroad as irrelevant is not right.

Yes, I agree, they are disappearing, but they've not disappeared so playing a fully European system means that we will be done over at times like West Brom & Wolves.

I don't know what job you do yourself, but do you honestly believe you could move to Italy & do it as well and as completely as you do here?

If there's a manager in the British game who should be questioned it's Bruce at Sunderland who lost 5-1 to Newcastle and who paid £13 M for a striker and wont play him.

I agree Bruce should be questioned, along with a good few others, but since I'm not a Sunderland fan, then that's not my place.

Glasgow shall I tell you why you're talking utter, utter shite and why your arguement is so flawed?

This 'British' game that no-one outside Britain understands malarky is the biggest load of shit; look back at the successful teams over the premiership and how many of them have been managed by English managers? Zero, absolutely zero! Don't give me the shite about 'British' because it backs up your Walter Smith story, the English premier league and the dismal Scottish league might as well be at different ends of the world.

The vast majority of successful managers in the premiership have been foreign and not many of them have the credentials of Mancini.

12 out of 18 years the EPL has been won by a British manager, surely that backs up my argument rather than shows it as flawed???

And my Walter Smith story is that I wouldn't want him at City no matter what he's done in another league.

Why has this thread taken off, it's a story from a Northern Irish newspaper, whose author is most likely a Rag

Someone said earlier that it has actually come from a reporter from the Independent that City have used to put stories out in the past ie Cook's interview after the Kaka deal fell through.
