City Treble documentary | Club sell rights to Netflix for seven figure sum | To be aired in April (p5)

I’ve watched the first 5 episodes now and really enjoyed it. But one thing strikes me - I’m glad I’ve got the subtitles on because I can barely understand a word Pep says, especially when he’s doing his intense half time talk, speaking really quickly. I’m thinking to myself, surely some of these players can’t be following this, especially those where English is not their first language? And yet they all sit their hanging on every word.

It’s like when you’re in a meeting at work but haven’t got a fuckin’ clue what’s being discussed but you still sit there nodding along anyway so your colleagues don’t think you’re thick.
I've often wondered how the players understand Pep. My theory is that they "get their ear in" to his way of talking and learn to speak "Pep". I even wonder if this is why there's something of a settling in period for players -- not only do they have to learn his ideas, part of it is learning to "speak Pep" LOL.

Watched the documentary and am now a member of bluemoon. This documentary will help to raise City's fan base. But, the documentary doesn't show a lot of insights on the road to the treble. It's more like some scenes you see in every football club. I was more curious about Pep's working style and wished more insights of his tactics.

Will also watch the next matches of City. I wonder what will happen after Pep leaves...

All or nothing from 17/18 season on Amazon was better from that point of view, I would recommend watching that.

They couldn't show more of his tactics as then his secrets would be out ;)

Have you read pep confidential?
That's a great insight into pep's style all about his first year at Bayern.
If not, read the first one. 2nd one isn't too good.

Probably unpopular opinion but I always find these kind of things tough to watch. The best football documentary I’ve seen is the Sunderland til I die one. That one showed the good, the bad and the ugly. This city one just feels like a complete puff piece designed to show how perfect and great city are.

Aside from the brief pep team talks I just found it far too cringey. Saying that my son absolutely loves it so I understand I’m probably not the target market!
There’s no bad and ugly to layer in as City didn’t have that side to them last season so can’t see how that comment is relevant.

The Sunderland one is of the best because of the few highs and many lows. Watching it reminded me of City under swales and Lee.
