City u19 v Gladbach

For the past 4-5 years, I've watched the way the academy players have been coached into playing & kind of winced at how much more advanced it has been compared to the first team. For some years now we've had the so called 'inverted' fullbacks, all the keepers can pass it better than Joe Hart, they all press & pass & move etc.

This game was no different, except it struck me how much more advanced the first team is at doing the same thing.

We have a first team manager, at last, & it all makes sense, at last. Just hope a few come through now & get a chance, at last.

Should have been ten this one, even though some weren't at their best.

Is this Francis' first game at this level?
