City v Arsenal Post Match

I still don't understand why Manauel made the Lampard sub when he did, I felt a goal coming, patience was needed. He sacrificed the midfield way to early.

We haven't won a Premiership game without Yaya since April I think I read somewhere.

When next the question is asked "who do we miss the most?" The answer is Yaya, he pulls us through these games time and again.

I hate AFCON.

Missed the big man today, doubt we would have lost that if he played.

Maybe we should have offered him a bonus to retire from international football.

Or a fcukin big big cake.....

As weak as ignoring an inexcusable team performance?

This thread is to discuss what just happened it the Arsenal match.
who's ignoring it? just im not a whinger who can't take it and gives up. We had shocking defeats in both of our recent title winning seasons yet we prevailed. One defeat and fuckin hell some people want a court marshall, it happens, win next week in we're favourites. I'm assuming you know this but get really pissed off after defeats.
Who's giving up?

Everybody loses, that's football. However, it's often how you lose and we were utter shite today.

I don't think it's the end of the world when we lose. I will however call a spade a spade i.e. if i see a disgusting performance I'll label it as such like today.

Now this thread is for those who may wish to discuss why we were so bad, what went wrong or merely to vent their frustrations instead of going into dozens of other threads. So if you wish to move on from the match then don't wander into the relevant match's thread and tell others who may wish to disucss it not to, and move on.

That's not "weak" it's common sense.
Common sense would be to realise bad performances happen to even the best sides and that we have had them before and won titles.

Today we got outwitted by Wenger.
18 corners should create a few chances but our failure to vary them made it so easy for their defence to cope. Not a single short corner!
Regroup and move on.

How true. That's the first loss in 13, i think we'll take that for the next 13. Just cut out the sloppy draws.
We'll be well up for the Chelsea game, i'm sure.

A meltdown to lose against such parhetic arsenal team!!!

Anyway time to say goodbye to the title just focus to get that 2nd place and maybe get the Fa cup

It was coming since blowing that 2 goal lead

I am not blaming Navas for costing us the game but he is nowhere near good enough for where we are and where we want to be.

Europa League player.

A "disgusting" or "inexcusable" performance is one without effort. There was plenty of effort out there. We were understrength and played poorly. Shit but I wouldn't call it disgusting/inexcusable

That was very very poor, possibly our worst at the Etihad under Pellegrini (maybe not including some CL games :D).

But the most shocking part is that we conceded 7 goals in the last 4 matches (Burnley, Everton, Sunderland, Arsenal) and 6 of them were from set pieces. On the other side, we manage to get about 15 corners each game yet we do not even create a chance from them. This might probably just decide the title like 2 years ago when Ferguson's side were much much better from set pieces.

Games like this, where we struggle to create anything would be quite an ideal occasion for converting corners into goals.
