When we play at our best we play a triangle passing game to expose space, the only players are Toure Merlin and Nasri who can do this all day long, any one of these are missing or off form,the triangle is gone, take away 2 were fucked, I've never seen anybody replace one of them successfully, add to that Kompany and Kun working their way back, not looking good for a few weeks at the most important period .

Let's not get too carried away. Arsenal did a job on us today, defended really well and played us on the counter quite effectively. Two goals from set pieces rather than open play.

Despite this It's fairly clear we need to strengthen in the summer and maybe move on 3 or 4 players who are not consistent performers.

You cannot expose much space when all 11 of the opposition are in the box. That's not to say it can't be done, it can, but it's unlikely to win you enough games when your defence is particularly vulnerable to a counter, should you fail to break through.

That triangular close quarter passing game needs to be just one of many strengths and tactics, but I feel it's becoming our overwhelmingly frequent tactic of late.

One of our biggest problems, imo, is that we don't have any players that can beat men at pace. You could see Arsenal today with a good few who could do that, at times Sanchez, Ox and Cazorla just waltzed past our lads.
