City v Arsenal Post Match

Disappointed, we didn't play badly, but arsenal were the better side in nearly every position, and they defended superbly, and got every ounce of luck going.

We need to sort our home form out though, its not good enough to win the league at the moment, and even if we win every other home game, it might prove still not good enough.
We did play badly though and there's no point in kidding ourselves otherwise. Almost everything we did was executed badly. Poor passes when under no pressure, corners, crosses, daft fouls, not winning tackles or headers, general defending. Give Arsenal credit as they did well but we were spineless.

Probably our worst performance since the last time they beat us and it was 10 v 11 then.

We didn't show up and we were pathetic to a man.

Wasn't impressed with Arsenal to any degree as we gave them nothing to concern themselves with.

Once Silva is marked out of the game we are in strife.

Put men behind the ball , wait for us to lose possession and its game over.

We should know better by now.

Defensively we have been well below par all year.

The fear we instilled in the opposition in our home games in our title winning seasons ain't around this year.

Spirit!!
I will say it again... our team lacked 1 oz of spirit today headless brainless.. we were at home like the fella above said we should have had jovici on from the start in his position... after 15 mins you could see the pattern of the game.. and Changes were needed... and its not a blip its been most of the season.. we try to walk the ball in.. ffs have a shot... if you bang your head on the wall all the time try Another way..but its all about opinions

I was giving credit to how arsenal played, I still don't think we played badly, but arsenal were better in pretty well every position on the pitch, they were very good, they defended brilliantly (the stats, on shots, possession, and corners bear that out, though why we currently bother having corners I don't know).

I can't stand arsenal or wenger, but today they were very good, and wenger got their set up spot on, so credit to him and their team.

The plain facts are we gave away a daft penalty (and a number of other stupid free kicks - nothing new there sadly), and we defended one set piece like the under 11's might (nothing new there either). After being pretty average first half, we played very well after half time for 20 minutes, and didn't take a number of good chances. Then they scored the second in pretty laughable circumstances, and we never really got to grips with it after that, despite good effort. I can't fault the effort overall, but we were beaten by the better side, it happens, but, and what will annoy us all most, is that arsenal will probably lose at Spurs or Palace, in their next 2 away games, because they won't be as up for those games.

I thought Arsenal played really well and the performance from Carzola was one of the best I have seen from an opposition player at City. I have no arguments with the Penalty, soft and stupid by the Captain but a foul nevertheless.

Navas also is getting far too much stick. He worked hard and won the ball back back on many occasions and tried to get the crosses in. Kun and Vinny unsurprisingly looked off par and very surprisingly MDM and Milner were poor. Fernandinho and Clichy were probably our better players and Jovetic looked decent when he came on and I had no problems with Mr P's substitutions. Today, hopefully was just the archetypical bad day at the office.

If we are throwing in Everton and Southampton as "Big Clubs" then are record for the season reads won 4, drawn 3 and lost 1 and that was today.

I am though very worried about set pieces. Giroud's goal was almost identical to Everton's equaliser and 144 corners for without a goal is a horrendous statistic.

How much have we spent since that turd Tixxi has been in charge? Yet still a disjointed unbalanced squad. It's easy to blame Pellers, just like it was easy to blame Bobby. If we have 2 people who dictate the transfer policy and likely team selection, but have a manager to take the blame then we will have some major problems.

Marking Silva out of the game only really works with Nasri missing too.

The only players to come out of today with credit are Yaya and Nasri (possibly Clichy too)

I thought Clichy was immense at times, some of his dribbles were top notch, his turn around from his shambles of October/ Novemeber has been inspiring.

What about Bony he did no wrong... IF yes i know If we had started with jovatic instead of Milner i Think we would have had more room... that was the miss that started us off on thw wrong foot we showed them to much respect from the off it was our must win match and we started it worring how to stop Sanchez..

We were poor today defo.
On the flip side we are equally capable of going on another winning streak.

To early to chuck the towel in bud, plenty can and will happen between now and the end of the season.
Personally i am looking at Chelsea's lack of injuries and then wondering if it is just hard luck or are our medical staff fucking shit.
I do not think it is a coincidence our stoppy starty form has coincided with stoppy starty players via injury.

We do need to buck our ideas up though, the lack of awareness for their second goal was pretty frustrating.
So was the achingly obvious issue with Jovetic being static up top on the left. It was a no go zone for us second half all he did was cut it right back every time.
Only when he decided to run across the front line did Arsenal start to flounder. Then he went right back to doing nowt.
