Whatevr elseyou can say about Arsenal, and their lovely fans, they did not come for the draw yesterday. They were comfortably the better side. And with only 35% possession as well. They deserved the win.ccr said:Admit I havn't read all the posts, so it may have been mentioned. A few years ago we were crucified by the press and Arsenal fans for playing like Arsenal did yesterday. Ruining football ,came for the draw and snatched it ,were some of the nice things that were said. Come full circle now wonder what the press will make of it ? City fans being a bit more knowledgeable about it.are mainly saying well done Arsenal. Just a thought.

Only light for the weekend was the City EDS beating Schalke 5-1.
The worry for the Chelsea game in 2 weeks is that the side we had yesterday is the side that must win there - Nasri likely to still be injured and Toure and Bony still in Africa.
There is still this feeling with City that despite the success in the last 4 years we are never far from failure again. Mostly after a tough period of results and performances we have been able to salvage things (interesting to see if we can do that again in the next few weeks via the Chelsea game and the FA Cup and then v Barcelona in Feb and at tough away games such as Spurs, Utd, Liverpool, Stoke and Swansea - we have not really played well since the WBA game away (first half)).
We still seem unable to push on just that little bit more that would make us a great team rather than a very good team.
Pellegrini has talked of Aguero and Silva challenging to be the best player in the world but sometimes performances like yesterday and against the very best teams suggest they are not quite consistent enough to reach the likes of Messi, they just fall a little bit short of that standard.
Thoughts also turn to the players we have brought in over the last 18 months and who would you say has been a resounding success ?
1) Negredo - good 1/2 a season but now gone (cost about £ 20 million) sold 205 26 mil ink add ons and loan fee
2) Navas - hot and cold form (cost about £ 16 million)
3) Jovetic - hot and cold and injured a lot (cost about £ 22 million) played in his position he will be woth every penny
4) Fernandinho - good season last season but now at best average this season (cost about £ 30 million) he paid that fee with the EPL win
5) Mangala - poor overall with the odd decent performance (cost about £ 32 million) ffs !!!!
6) Fernando - poor overall with the odd decent performance (cost about £ 12 million) he was one of the 11 that played yesterday below par but still put in a shift
7) Sagna - poor overall - no cost apart from wages so a Freemans as back up.. is a bad deal ?
8) Caballero - poor to OK - (cost about £ 4 million) hmm
Have any of these significantly improved us and been much better than who they have replaced, and consider the large financial outlay for all of them.
Bony should from what we have seen at Swansea (fingers crossed)
City still a bit of a conundrum, can delight but can still despair also.
