City v blackburn 4 -1 ewood park 2000

My brother was working on a site over there at the time and managed to secure a couple in the Jack Walker stand from one of Blackburn’s ‘lads’. Only problem was we had to meet him beforehand at a really dodgy, very moody NF-style pub to collect them.
It was home fans only but we talked the bouncer into letting us in once we said who we were meeting. The fact he raised his eyebrows should've been a giveaway.
Even though we had no colours on we stood out like a sore thumb, it was like An American Werewolf in London. And the fella was late.
Thought we weren't going to last long, locals were making it obvious they didn't like us being in there and a few ‘accidentally’ bumping into us etc until we were randomly befriended by the local nutter, a loud, massive, psychotic looking skinhead whose face was covered in home made tattoos and who everyone else seemed ro be avoiding. He told us some Manc/Salford lads had looked after him in prison when he “got into some bother with the P***s” and he knew the fella we were waiting for. Nobody came near us after that.
Once in the ground the Blackburn fans were fine. Met a couple of mates on the pitch afterwards who offered us a lift home. Only they couldn't find their car so we wandered around Blackburn for over an hour til we found it. On the way back, the team coach passed us and we followed it off the motorway into a hotel, tried to follow the team into a function room but got caught and told to do one by the security hectors.
Ended up in Didsbury village until the early hours, blues AOTS spilling into the roads and singing/ballooning about
