City v Bristol City 1st leg post match

Enjoyed that. Not at our best as we can’t be in every game.

I have said for a while I am not sure about gundogan. Sanchez is clearly going to be a great addition to the squad.

A good result in the end.

We have some real moaning fans.
Think he just get some confidence back in his body/ability after the injuries, hope so anyway, there's a class footballer in there.

As for the match itself, we won. Great result, great to watch and easy to point fingers at the usual suspects, but we won the first leg of a semi-final. FUCKING YEAH!! Glad that Bristol gave our lads a better game than almost every other premiership side has done at the Etihad this season and we had to work hard and to plan to get the win. Plan worked perfectly. Bought on from the bench to finish them off and kept plenty rested or not over exerted for the bin dippers.

Credit where credit is due. BCFC were brilliant tonight. I feared that beyond 1-15 in our squad, is where success will be won or lost. Our squad players just don't seem good enough.

Also without David Silva, we don't seem like City. His recent absence has only further highlighted the difference he makes.

Good come back, we’re patient despite some players being very poor for our standards.

Credit to Bristol, they were good and better to watch than 90% of the teams who’ve come to the Eithad in the Prem this season.

No credit to our fans. Attendance was poor, noise was poor, attitude was poor. That’s rubber stamped it now, 100%, the Singing Section is in the wrong fucking place and shame on the club for giving us that pitiful joke of an area!
Well said and great post.

All I will say for there pen it was a joke for both of them in Mangala who has looked ok and for Stones diving in. Stones stands up longer we get a chance to get a block on. I think that on whole that the back 4 that played there will be only for cup games. The full backs were ok and Stones and Mangala too. Problem for Mangala is thats his 3rd defensive partner in so many games. If Stones aint leading the back line or the keeper he is at times problem prone like Stones last season.

apologies for bringing this up and I know it has been covered time and time again, but the attendance, purely on the grounds of it being the home leg of a SEMI-FINAL, was beyond pathetic. There is not a club in this country in the same circumstances, would have such a poor turnout. This was SEMI FINAL ffs. Have a large swathes of supporters become so complacent to bring them to the point of just not bothering to appreciate the meaning of 'support'?
Even the CL home games this season only managed to render at least 10,000 missing supporters.
I just don't get it. Irrespective of how much our players are paid and their status in world football, they still need to see and feel the support of the home crowd and tonight's mass desertion rendered me speechless.

Rant over and won't ever mention this again.

Have we started playing city bingo already?

I agree with much of what you say, but the bit in bold suggests you don't read the pre-match threads, with our entitled "fans" expecting every game to be a goal fest, and its even worse on the post match threads when we don't.

Players 1-11 tonight were crap tonight apparently, yet we won, again.

We should have had 4 or 5 tonight though.

Bristol really fucked up on several occasions similar to Mangala's mess & sometimes we didn't even end up with a shot out of it. If we fannied around like that on a typical weekend, we wouldn't be where we are now.

It was a lot harder to create a chance & score, when we actually scored the winner.

It is first week back at school for many. There were 37,000 city fans there on a school night for a game on tv when we played at weekend and have had loads of Xmas games.

The attendance was fine. It is not compulsory to go.
