Right from the off he wanted to card Yaya and it's all because of the hype surrounding last week's refusal to ban him. Couldn't believe it when Navas - all of ten stone soaking wet - was penalised for shoulder charging his opponent off the ball late in the second half. Pulling Kompany over to have a word early in the game and was it four yellows to their two in a game where there really wasn't a bad challenge aside from the dive by Jovetic. Not often I agree with the GPC but Dowd looked far too overweight and was often well behind the play. Hang up your whistle you fraud.

DruryBlue said:Overall our work rate was excellent today, but I thought that Milner and Kompany were superb. I think we learned from the last game against Chelsea that if you stand off them, they are good enough to play through you and\or have the individual skills to beat their man. This time we were all over them the minute they touched the ball or even showed an intent to touch the ball.
Previous poster mentioned Clichy not getting forwards enough - I thought it was a deliberate ploy by City to nullify Ivanovic breaking as he tends to play more like a wing back than a full back, with their left back tucking in to make it a back three. The other factor that nullified their threat down the wings was the work rate of Silva and Milner (who I've already lauded).
Barca will be an immense challenge but I hope that the players have proved to themselves how effective they can be when they combine an enormous work rate with their undoubted talent.
Final point - well done the Manager. Don't get involved with Maureen and instead spend the time developing our game plan to address the issues identified by the previous defeat against Chelsea.

You're right, Dowd is a fucking clown. The linesman down the North Stand end was fucking hopeless as well - he's the one that gave the free kick against Navas.
