City v Chelsea (fa cup. 5 th round ) post match thread

Right from the off City were all over them like a rash and we didn't let up for the whole 90 minutes.

One of the most impressive performances in recent times and absolutely impossible to pick a man of the match when eight or nine of them have strong claims for the accolade.

No Aguero, Fernandinho or Joe Hart and Nasri and Negredo in little cameo's only. This side is potentially on the verge of greatness.

Top drawer performance, Garcia was excellent in midfield, Clichy had a good game at left back and Lescott mopped up some of their more dangerous moments. We never gave them a sniff, god knows how they beat us 2 weeks ago. We were quick to them in the first half and stamped ourselves all over them, Hazard never had a sniff. Well done blues

Having a defensive midfielder playing that isn't one would be my guess

Javi Garcia MOTM for me fully deserved excellent through out and only just back from injury.

Fuck off Maureen u boring fucker.

Get in the QUAD is still alive.

This, though i actually would put Lescott up for the shout aswell. Made some game defining tackles. A star!

Very cultured, impressive performance. Sligtly slower in posession which helped the defence but quick when going forward we were quick, slick and the movement was brilliant - everyone always had an option. So pleased with this. We've a great chance of winning this. Bring on barca let's have a go

We missed Garcia as well as Fernandinho that night. He was superb tonight.

Well we overcome Chelsea's 12 men today with the awful Phil Dowd doing his utmost to get them through. Right from the off he wanted to card Yaya and it's all because of the hype surrounding last week's refusal to ban him. Couldn't believe it when Navas - all of ten stone soaking wet - was penalised for shoulder charging his opponent off the ball late in the second half. Pulling Kompany over to have a word early in the game and was it four yellows to their two in a game where there really wasn't a bad challenge aside from the dive by Jovetic. Not often I agree with the GPC but Dowd looked far too overweight and was often well behind the play. Hang up your whistle you fraud.
