City v Chelsea Post Match Thread

Just wasn't our night. Poorest performance at home for a while from our attacking players. Nothing went our way on that front.

Thought Navas was comfortably our MOTM. Was excellent all match and a real threat for them. Dzeko and Negredo were both equally poor. Jovetic marginally better when he came on.
He may have had the ball a lot but he did sweet fuck all with it each time, thought he was poor.

Forget DM in midfield, they only scored once!

The story of this match is 20 odd shots with only 3 on target - Aguero

Aguero, Nasri and Fern were all missed tonight. Our big problem though was appalling finishing and a failure to be more clinical with some of our final balls. Chelsea were bound to get a few decent chances playing on the counter but they were far more clinical. They also did a good job of stopping us playing. I do think for this one that we should have started with only one of Dzeko and Negredo - who were both awful - and I did say that in the prematch thread.

Awful result.

Dzeko oh dear
when are ppl going to understand he is worthless
mystifies me mate....people covering for him because he scores a few....full strength team you could put a pair of boots on a lampost and it would score as many as Dzeko

He was no worse than Negredo. Both of them were dreadful tonight.

Has ANYONE got a clue why we made only one substitution?

Better team on the day won, only due to injuries. The next 7 games are all very winnable then it's Arsenal away. I reckon we'll be a few points in front by then.

Chelsea played us at the right time with us having injuries to key players.

MD was bordering on a joke in midfield.

Dzeko is out of form and Negredo looked like he has lost momentum after being rested.

No Sergio = no title, he is our match winner, the man for the big occassion and our true real fear factor.

Pellegrini should have put an extra man in midfield.

Disgrace of a performance that, worse than Bayern at home.

No question now about who's the most important member of the squad

Absolutely no question.

None whatsoever!!

Also, should never have sold De Jong. So important in those days but Mancini had a thing for Barry.... who is pretty shit.

Re: We had to Lose Sometime

To be far they deserved it and at least they attacked us - shame we were so below par to make it a competitive game

Guys nothing is lost. We've been flying high, and it was time we were reminded we are vulnerable at the back. This should be a motivating loss that will see us tighten our game for the league finale.
