Was cringing reading some pre match posts on here about mourinho and how we will "do em good tonight ". Love him or loath him, he is the real deal. Tactics perfect tonight. We lost the game tonight the minute we lost fernandinho.
That was a lesson on how to defend and counter attack right there. Our back 4 was woeful as were our front 2. Silva is shocking in front of goal and we needed a big performance from him and didnt get one.
I shudder to think what barcelona would have done to us tonight. Hazard is a joy to watch and was on a different planet to any of our players.
I think we have seen the new champions tonight and unfortunately it isnt us.

Easy with hindsight but said before game - we needed pace, athletism and one up front would have done today. Jovetic looked good today when he came on, Negredo didn't look himself/100% and Dzeko was frustrating at times plus we were so vulnerable down our left side, surely this would have been better and got us at least a draw:

Chelsea were quality tonight I thought but Pellegrini really cocked up with his team selections.

It was obvious Mourinho was going to pack the midfield and we really were over-run in there. Can't understand why Milner didn't start in the middle as he would have given us energy.

We knew we'd have to defend tonight - I'd take Lescott over Nastasic who has been awful this season every day of the week and although Kolarov had a good season we needed the pace of Clichy at the back.

Overall disappointed with team selection and tactics - but on the positive side hart was decent and jovetic did really well.

Let's go on another run now.

Did someone die? We're second in the league. We lost a game against one of our closest rivals after an amazing run of victories. We were missing 3 of our most influential players. Clearly, we weren't at our best tonight but some of the whining on here is uncalled for. I'll take solace in the ever improving Jovetic. Onwards and upwards.
