I don't believe at all they will knock us out of the FA cup. Thinking like that we may aswell not bother turning up for the game

Sheeesh

I forgot we were playing them in the FA Cup. I actually am quite happy with that, we get a shot at some revenge.

Agreed, although it's not clear any of our walking wounded will be available, so it will be the same set-up.

There is a certain irony that we over-played a just-recovering Aguero against Watford to win that game - and that possibly was a cause of the injury which then keeps him out of the next round as well as some crucial league games. So that one decision might actually cost us in both the league and cup.

Didn't have the stomach for this thread last night and still not trawled through it but.. has anyone offered a suggestion as to why we reverted to hoofing every goal kick up field?... it wasn't as though we were mixing it up as Joe hoofed it every time, we hardly won any headers or even second balls for that matter.

We couldn't play it out from the back, so had to hoof it a lot, because A) Chelsea flooded the midfield and pressed well + B) Demichelis in the DM position can't bring the ball forward and can't pass forward very well.

Winning the second balls was an issue because of Chelsea having so many in midfield too. The fact that neither Negredo or Dzeko could hold the ball up didn't help.

Fernandinho could have made a big difference to that game because of his passing and movement. Hell, even Javi Garcia can pass it forward quite well.

we lost due to having 2 of are best form players out and that little bit more quality we need at the back with Kompany, im sure as hell certain this will be sorted for next season but one result like this is far from the end of the world plenty more to look forward to and hopefully this makes the players want to win them trophy's even more.

terry and cahill like nothing better than 2 great lumps in front of them. and that's exactly what they got from our 2.dzeko and negredo who never looked to make runs in behind them. only when jovetic came on did terry and co. look uncomfortable. pellegrini must realise sometimes you need to match the oppositions formation. 5 in midfield would have allowed yaya to move further forward and received the ball 30 yards out . a draw wouldn't have been a bad result considering who we were missing.

I always admire your positive outlook TCIB but I do suspect sometimes it may be chemical related :)

It's not so bad losing to Chelsea having been 3 points ahead that has me in a sour mood. It's losing to such a detestable prick. Again.

2 secs Wayne im just smok...err having a sip of my brew :p

First time i was a bit pissed off last night, not sure why as i usuall can see the bigger picture.
The fact Nastasic nearly chopped Kompany in half in the first 2min didn't help set the tone hehe.

I look at Pellegrini doing wonders with Malaga though and am in my head at least sure he will adapt.
I have to believe that or i will go nuts bud hehe.
