City v CSKA Moscow Post Match Discussion Thread

Loving these European nights at City. I think we've played 3 of the top 4 sides in Europe in the last year ( Bayern, Dortmund and Real Madrid ). We play Chelsea, United and Arsenal regular as well. We only need to improve a little bit and we will be contenders. Unbelievable.

Tyler said Aguero has to considered one of the top 3 in the world.

Quinn said it was a joy to watch us and it was worth double the entrance fee to watch Aguero.
Can't disagree with the comments tbh, the high line is shakier than mr Stevens but the attack is sublime, enjoyable football to watch

How is it?

Too many falling for the sky bullshit here. They created very few chances in the 90 mins which tells me we defended not too bad.

Clichy challenge aside which in no way tells us we have a dodgy defence as a whole and many are forgetting that we are playing an opposition who are allowed to create and score themselves and sometimes, you hold your hands up and say fair play.

Fair point that. We sometimes forget that we are playing against quality strikers that will on occasion turn a defender inside out or split a defence apart will a killer pass - these things happen. Silly individual mistakes leading to penalties will always be a part of the game, we've just got to keep these mistakes to a minimum.

No, head to head records if two teams finish level, ergo if they win 2 and we lose 2, we still pip them,

Yeah , but they WON'T finish 'level' anyway ..... we both have to play Bayern , and we are the side more likely to get something out of the game against them.

However, that's irrelevant. We are through due to head-to-head and nothing to do with goal difference.

But he knew where he was doing that challenge, the ref didn't though. Okay, silly thing but would it have been a freekick it's not that bad.

I agree with SR, tonight he was very solid and against Norwich, too, although it wasn't the hardest task for our defence.

Are you saying it wasn't a penalty?

It was 100% outside the box, the official on the line should have pointed that out to the ref.

Stupid and unnecessary challenge though.

The foul continued into the box. 100% penalty.

Great performance on the whole with a few sloppy periods,

Aguero/Negredo/Nasri ans Silva are just magical at the moment.

Hope the injuries aren't too bad.

As for comments about Clichy. He was sloppy to say the least.

Already said my piece but cant ignore all the shit on this thread re Clichy.

Yes he gave away a daft penalty but he actually played very well tonight and looked like the Clichy of old.

Stop getting your opinions from Sky.

Can you not see what you are saying though? That mistake in another game could have been costly. His mistake against Chelsea led to a goal. I could say Hart performances other than his mistakes have been fine. How long do you allow concentration lapses to carry on?

This mistake was in this game, not 'another', so your point is irrelevant. It would be like Aguero missing a sitter in our next game (a 'mistake') and you saying he 'might' do that again in the next game which might be 'costly'. Ifs and buts.

Clichy didn't make a 'mistake' against Chelsea. He got out paced by Torres nothing more nothing less. You may find this hard to believe but sometimes players, even ours, get outpaced.

His play for 99.9% of todays game was solid and professional. I see clear signs that he is recovering his form to the levels we know.

Sky played on his mistake and added it conveniently to the Chelsea game and some of you have fell in head first without actually thinking for yourselves.

Wrong. It's where the incident first took place.
