I'm going to go for another Everton win.

I've enjoyed watching City this year, but this will be your hardest match so far without a doubt, and we have a very difficult few weeks ahead ourselves, so will be looking to kick on.

If we can avoid an early goal, and come out in the 2nd half unscathed, I think we have a great chance of stealing it.

Osman to score.

Hardest match so far was Napoli. No disrespect, but your team does not nearly come close to their quality. I'm willing to wager that our strongest XI doesn't even play against you because Bayern is a bigger concern than you lot. I hope your squad is feeling fresh for battle after that abysmal (my opinion) CC performance. Last time, we should have obliterated you. It didn't happen. Guess what? We're a different beast now, far improved, and much more gelled. Enjoy the match, I know who I'm placing my money on.

How are you able to comment on the cup match when it wasn't streamed?
Are you an Evertonian in disguise?

Not that good that Fulham put 2 past you lol. We have a few new faces ourselves this time around, and they all get their hands dirty.

Osman to score twice.

by such childish logic, if Villa scored 2 against you at home wouldn't we score approximately 5-6?

Fulham will finish higher than you lot, easily.

I think them dropping 2 points last week might hurt their chances :o)

Re: City vs Everton Pre Match Discussion Thread

There is some right shit on this pre match thread f.f.s!!!

Hargreaves to start??
5 at the back?
Bayern more important?

No, Bayern is not more important. Our priority has to be winning the premier league, and the notion that the league is won and lost later on in the year is a crock of shite. We are up there for one reason, and that is that we have murdered 4 out of 5 of our first opponents. No need to stop on Saturday in my opinion. I don't want to look back in 2012 and say oh I wish we'd have gone for the kill against Fulham, Everton, Villa, Qpr's, but we didn't because we rested a couple of lads for the champions league a few days later. We either qualify out of our group with our squad or we dont, either way it is not as important as winning the league. It is our first foray into the Ch League and I think we can comfortably get through our group with a number of potential starting XI's. Top four is almost a certain yes? Are we cemented in the top 4 now? Qualifying for the Ch. League yearly, and domestic domination will enable us to have many glorious european adventures in the future.

I can't be the only one who thinks all this am I? Winning the league has to be our priority now, and I thought we had already established that en masse. I still can't believe that we are even talking about us being in a position to win the league. It's quite amazing our journey over the last few years.

With the Rags potentially facing a slip up down the road at the Potteries, we could go top, and could potentially stay there before we play them in a months time.

We are a few weeks into the season and these are highly paid professional athletes, who should be able to play two or potentially three times in a 7/8/9 day period, with a few subs here and there. God I play 3 times a week and I dont get paid 200k and I have bad knees.

This resting/rotation notion so early in the season is really quite frankly doing my bleeding head in. Mancini wants to be ruthless and 'more like the Rags' or whatever he said along those lines, then goes and takes off Silva after 70mins and follows that with Aguero and Nasri..............uh...........?? Our league team should hardly change at all but for the odd injury or suspension. We easily disposed of Birmingham with an excellent team put out by Mancini, and I imagine the cups will continue to give him a chance to rotate and rest later on in the year.

Sod rotation so early and I dont want the notion anywhere near my starting City XI for league matches so soon.

The team should be
HART
MICAH VINNY LESCOTT CLICHY
BARRY YAYA
NASRI SILVA AGUERO
DZEKO

PANT, KOLO,SAVIC, KOLAROV,MILNER, HARGREAVES/NDJ(one of two maybe), BALO,TEVEZ

the end.

Re: City vs Everton Pre Match Discussion Thread

Bayern is very important, especially to our owners who want a strong display in our breakout year. Spurs got to the quarters, not getting out of the group would be a dissapointment and Europa league would just make me down right bitter.

We don't have to play every one of our strongest XI to feel comfortable against Everton, no way!

I never said Bayern wasn't very important. It's massive in fact. It's Bayern Munich vs MCFC in a sold out Allianz Arena on telly for the world. It's important alright.

Just doesn't mean that Everton is not more important. If we go out with our minds on Tuesday then it could be same old City v Everton again. I for one want us to concentrate on every match as it comes, with a full, strong team when possible. I do understand the theory that our squad is so competitive now that everyone is playing for their spot week in week out and has to impress. That may be the case, however our opponents have their own agendas and couldn't give a flying f' about our rotation policy and or fixture list.

So if we dont play our strongest XI we rest Aguero and Nasri and put in Tevez and Milner maybe, or Balo for Dzeko? I personally would rather not, but I wouldn't mind that to be honest, and if we need a goal bring them on later on if necessary. We need teams to start rolling over for us like they do for the Rags, not going out there thinking 'hey they're resting half their players, we can do these rich bastards in their own house!'. We need teams to fear us both home and away. I for one would much rather a team rolled over for us than have to play tough away matches every week. Not to the extent that our league becomes too predictable like SPL or La Liga for example, but you know what im getting at.

Bare in mind this too Jumanji. We have all these away fixtures AFTER these 'more important' Ch League matches. The Rags dont (surprise surprise). Chelsea and Arsenal (do we even consider them rivals this season now, im not sure?) im not sure about their fixtures post Ch League rounds so I cant comment on that however. Im sure they both dont have tough away matches after every single european match. So know this, who do we pick for our away league matches after each round of Ch League fixtures? If lose 3pts here and drop 2pts there and so on, it will start to add up.

Dropping into the Europa League is not an option, and yes would quite frankly look a bit embarrassing, but overlooking any league opponent (and especially at such an early stage in the season) is not productive to where we want to go in my opinion.

1.League
2.Ch League
3.Fa Cup
4.Carling Cup

Never been a question about that order. City 4 Everton 1

As always, I am expecting Everton to win but your luck against us has to run out at some point. With all due respect, Napoli was the hardest game by far and I can't see this one comparing. We will more than likely dominate you, but it is whether we cock it up or not. This is either going to be a 1-0, 2-1 to Everton or we are going to conquer another one of our bogey teams 4-1 or 5-1. (Cahill to score of course)

Re: City vs Everton Pre Match Discussion Thread

In each of our League games we played teams which wanted to play football.

Everton maybe a different type of game. They will retreat up to a certain point, and then they wont give an inch, and they will look to hit us on the counter-attack. And importantly their players know they can beat us.

If City score first, then we could overwhelm them within minutes because our football is that good, but with an edge of tension at 0-0 or 0-1, Everton could hold out for 90 mins, as Napoli did, and they have done before.

City are better than 12 months ago, but there's no guarantee we will show up on Saturday, or that Everton wont play out of their skins.

Any result is possible on Saturday, from a narrow Everton win to a big City win, but I'm confident we will win

I hope Milner starts. Seems we will be without AJ and De Jong so my team would be

----------------------Hart--------------------
Richards------Kompany----Lescott-------Clichy
--------------Milner--------YaYa--------------
--------------Nasri---------Silva--------------
--------------Aguero-------Dzeko-------------

And I'd get Micah and Clichy playing as wingers to give us width

A lot of changes v everton?

I reckon with Munich being the priority to bobby we'll see kolo, balo,Carlos,Milner and Hargreaves at some stage.

Likely resting dzeko,aguero,silva,nasri and vinnie.

Will we still have enough to get one over on the lucky blue dippers?
