City v Everton Post Match Thread

feeling rather down coz of the whole aguero thing, but there were many great performances today. Nasty, yaya, cliche and Milner were fantastic. We need kompany and silva back, and would be nice for jovertic and Fernandinho to make a return. My mood on a scale of 1-10: 5.5 lol

Not our best game under difficult circumstances and huge pressure.

Mangala was a very lucky boy. Will detract from what was a very solid performance. Demichellis looked very assured again. He reads the game so well.

All across the midfield I thought we were outstanding.

Gutted for us, for Sergio.

Whilst not playing overly well, or as well as the last two games we still were fairly comfortable against a very determined and talented team.

We had two incredible chances to make it 3. If Milner or Pozo score, or both ideally then we win comfortably.

We showed guts and desire where Chelsea haven't.

Missing Kompany, Silva and Aguero is one thing, but to then be missing all Aguero's understudies is another.

Brace yourselves for the inevitable MOTD hatched job on Mangala and Fernando, and doubtless not a bloody word about how Nasri and Yaya were brilliant.

We wasted our corners and set pieces; Mangala was lucky not to get sent off and after Kun got injured we did look a bit toothless up front. They are the bad points not being mentioned that much in this thread.

Having said that it was a great win that showed a lot of character. What's left of our big name players really went to town today and showed skill and belief for the full ninety minutes. Even the injury to Kun so early didn't seem to affect our play. Far too many good performances to single out and for me some excellent game management and substitutions from Mr P. One chance all game for Everton and we had half a side missing.

Dogged performance in difficult circumstances and with a weakened side. That's the sort of game that Champions need to work through and so we did showing great steel effort and commitment. Milner easily MOTM buy Yaya ran him close for me.

Well played City.

It never ceases to amaze me how much of an influence confidence has on footballers and teams. I dont think we played particularly well today but we appeared confident we would win. We looked strong without ever hitting the heights and everyone played there part.

We can take that confidence to Rome and even without some of big players im convinced we will go there expecting to get a result.

Pozo sub was surprising .I was expecting to see Frankie instead.

Not sure if serious CB but it turned out to be an excellent decision by Pellers. He realized he couldn't put in Edin for a full 90 mins knowing he's going to rely on him for the Roma game. Thought Pozo was very impressive and worked hard up there as the front man.

As far as the teams performance I was incredibly impressed with the fitness levels of everyone today especially Yaya, Zabba, Clichy Nasri,Milner and Navas. Im amazed these players can recover so quickly after so many lung bursting runs. I hope they recover enough for the trip to Roma. Overall a great performance despite not having three of our best players out there.

Shan't be watching that shite of a programme. Three nil nils, so there'll be even more time for looping The Mangler's wee indiscretion. But get this MOTD, the ref saw it, and deemed it a yellow! Huff and puff all yer want!
