City v Everton post match

Dominated midfield, final ball needs more work,
2 missed pens at home criminal, wtf Kompany centre forward ? 2 points dropped.
As a positive thought 3 at back worked well and one extra I mid helped us boss mid, but wasted the possession though poor conversion to goals. Lukalu not a sniff and then scores, class player. Still think Everton will finish top 6 this season

Was beaten, etc.

Explained at the end of my post: Pep's tactic clearly didn't worked, while opponents almost extract maximum given their lower skills and abilities.

It's a coach who didn't win this game. Can't blame players. They did what they told. It's simply didn't work.
Beaten?

Oh ffs.

That's enough internet for today.

Everyone is slating De Bruyne and Aguero for missing the penalties. No one is giving credit to Everton's Goalkeeper. He was in top form today and we were unlucky with the Penalties. The point is better than none and I think 3 at the back will work for us with time.

- Sane was great and with time he will get better. Sterling was Superb on the right
- Nacho was also really good and connected as well as he good
- De Bruyne is coming back from Injury so I expected him not to be on top form. He wasn't up to scratch. And the penalty miss just completely made him lose focus. Silva or Gundogan should have taken the first Penalty cause they are both on form
- Ferna and Gundogan were also great.
- Bravo could have done nothing for Lukaku's goal, Clichy should have closed him up
- Nolito has been missed and will be great having him back for the games upcoming
- Aguero is not mentally inform due to what happened with Paraguay and the Arga press so also he should NOT have taken the Penalty. But again I credit the keeper who did great.
- Kompany seems on the way to be molded into a central midfield position!!

Today was a game of bad luck and Everton parking the bus. I really wanted us to win after all this possession but a point is still very good. Tottenham nearly lost at West Brom. We are still top by goal difference unless Liverpool score 3 against Man United!

Everyone who thought we are just going to walkthrough the park and win every game got a wake up call today. But I truly believe I am seeing the beginning of great things to come! Sane, Sterling, Nacho, Stones.... New young blood will transform us with time. All we need is the young fullbacks to join ranks now!

On to Barca. I will take a draw there as well :)
Well said young man (I assume you are a young man? Not that I am inquiring for personal reasons!)

Suddenly Pep founds its very hard.

Kuman completely overplayed Pep. Sometimes it reminded me Barca vs Di Matteo Chelsea semifinal, when Messi also missed penalty.

And typical Barca/Pep opponent - one moment, one shot, one goal. While opponents keeper doing best game in his life.

I saw it like gazillions times.

Pity un-winning strike is probably continue to 4 games at least.

They should seriously do something with penalty and set pieces. When 8 players staying under ball line you can't score just popping ball through the legs, not even Messe with Xavi and Iniesta could pull this trick. There is only one tactic - winning yellow/red cards, set pieces and headballs. And the latter saved a point here.

Overall I hugely dissapointed because, like I said, Pep was clearly overplayed, second time, in a row. His plan with wingers and constant crosses didn't work, opponents bloked 9 out of 10 attemps.

Are you serious? Outplayed? 72% possession, 2 penalties saved and 2 not given, a dozen shots and there keeper had the goalkeeping performance of the season. Peps finding nothing hard, this is the premier league, the hardest league in the world and he has City playing brilliant. He does need to sort penalties as we'll be getting plenty this season.

We were lacking the same intensity we started the season with and a little bit of sharpness but there are valid reasons for that, I was encouraged by how we still dominated them no matter how hard they tried to press they couldn't get the ball.

Our players will be fit and firing again soon, Sane looks like he's ready for more games he will improve game by game imo, Nolito is back and should be fresh... Kun's form will return. Lets keep our spirits up the old "typical city" vibe is returning when it shouldn't be... fans need to make a conscious effort to control it along with panicking when Bravo has the ball, it's not just the players who have to adapt.

Two poor penalties and two points dropped.

Why did Clichy allow Lukaku to stay on his stronger side?
Because Lukaku ran down Clichy's weak side.
watch Otamendi commit himself far to easy in the build up-he was dreadful today

What a narrow-minded view and simplistic explanation. Much more to it than what you think.

Have to say really not waiting for the games against Pool and Arsenal. They have the ability to press us which we really dont like Wenger already beat us recents seasons by sitting back and press/counter us for whole game and actually they ended up with more scoring chances as we were toothless. Of course that was Pellegrini's team...

While Liverpool have so much energy, intensity and also pace that can cause some big problems especially if we want to play this tiki-taka.
