City v Everton post match

Far too slow yesterday, final third we didn't really have a plan other than keep passing on the edge of their box until we lose possession. Still the better team and it would of been criminal to lose but Everton defended well. Pep needs a rocket up their Arse and quick
What 'rocket' do you suggest? It's not like the opposing manager came out and said that was the best team he's faced in his material career or anything. Oh, he did, didn't he.
We weren't slow. We were up against 11 men behind the ball working hard to close spaces for 90 minutes. In that time we did more than enough to warrant the three points but as football is real and the people playing it are human it doesn't always result in getting what you deserve.
The only couple of criticisms I'd have from yesterday would be set pieces - Corners, free kicks and obviously the penaltys were all below a standard you'd expect from a team as talented as us and some decision making in dangerous areas both attacking and defending.
They don't need a rocket, they need sitting down and to watch all the great things they did yesterday and as a group figure out how to keep improving.
Rockets are for fans to busy frothing at their mouths to appreciate all the good things we're doing only 4 months into a new managers reign with pretty much the same squad of players that limped through the previous couple of seasons.

I was just looking at the corners stat 13 we had and if i remember rightly not once did we have a clear chance of goal with any of them??

Something Pep may need to look at?
One of the early ones in the first half was right on fernandinhos head but it went high and wide. Other than that they were disappointing.

only person frothing here is you who seems to think the way you viewed the game is correct and no one else's is allowed.

A team did set up with ten men behind the ball you are quite correct, the fact they ALWAYS had so many men behind he ball suggests our build up was slow enough they could get everyone back. The opposing manager is a good friend of his, would you take what fat Sam and moyes say after playing fergie with any real credibility.

They need a rocket as the last 3 games we have under performed and been poor against their high standards they have set. Your reaction to my post is very Ott, the chances are slim of a win in barca which will mean 4 games without victory. If you're happy with that fill your boots but the one thing you was correct on was how shite the set pieces were which is even more criminal with the quality of players taking them

Not looked all the way through the thread but has much been made of the challenge by Coleman on Sterling. At the time I thought it was a shocking challenge and we didn't even get a freekick!! Not surprisingly not shown on motd despite their witch hunt for Aguero.
On another day we would have won 4 or 5-1 and overall happy with performance despite result.

That's because your view is often a load of bollocks.

It's quite easy to get back quickly and fill a space if you don't move from it in the first place

I really hope we play as poorly as yesterday for the rest of the season because I'll be looking forward to going every week

I thought that Gael C was superb and easily our MOTM.I accept he got skinned by Lukaku but how many defenders have.Quality finish but what about that goalkeeping display .. truly amazing especially that save from KDB.From the CBL3 stand it looked all the way in.Why the fuck don`t we shoot more often instead of playing too much tippy tappy in and around the box.Ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Other than the result I thought we played well enough to have won,but just one of those bad days at the office.

Last 2 seasons we've morphed into Arsenal and the signs are appearing again. Completely dominate but have a soft under belly and weak mentality. Confident Pep will sort it.
