City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

SKY SPORTS NEWS EXCLUSIVE:

Reports from the Etihad are coming through that Vincent Kompany has finally let Luis Suarez out of his back pocket. We will let you know more when we hear it.

Not one of our better performances but still a win, i do have to say that was never in any way offside, how they gave that is beyond me, but as far as shirt pulling goes both sides were guilty of doing it, no doubt we will be called lucky and Liverpool should have had this and that, but if we go in to win the league then we will need luck, from time to time all sides who win titles have that little bit of luck.

Fucking love it when we beat the scousers. Especially when we don't deserve to. Fucking love it. I'd support Manchester over Liverpool in any contest, any time - yes, even united. I'm a Mancunian. And I enjoy Guinness.

Big 3 points that. Great to see the lads work tirelessly for a win, even when some of the play wasn't quite as fluid as we've seen previous.

Also credit to Pellegrini for timing and selection of subs, which have been spot on recently.

Entertaining game, but Liverpool have been as good, if not better, in the corresponding fixtures in recent years (a couple of notable exceptions), so the real test for them is how they fare against other teams. They've now lost away to us and Arsenal and dropped points at Everton and Newcastle. They won't be far away this season, but I would question whether or not they have the psychological strength to go the distance and win it.

Objective is 4th. I know I'm sounding like a broken record, but easy to forget expectations going into this season. The "psychology" stuff applies to Spurs (all those signings), Man U (champs, "size") and Arsenal (choking history).

Chelsea seem like they'll coast into top 4 one way or another and win the title if you lot somehow fail to win it.

The other two top four spots are up for grabs.
Don't give UTD too much credit, they've choked twice, Arsenal, and City have both caught them to win the title, and this side isn't as good as those. Liverpool were unlucky today, a draw would've been a fairer result, but each side pushed the other, like two fighters trading punches, until mistakes were made, City's confidence, and belief in fortress Ethiad was the difference, Hart showed his class today, as did Kompany, shades of the 1-0 win at home to Utd.

I wish BT sport didn't insist on saying Liverpool had a wrongfully disallowed goal, takes the piss ever so slightly.

Officials were terrible for both teams.

Great win for us, as big an understatement as that is. Ridiculous how tight the table is, Liverpool were top 24 hours ago, now they're fourth.

So was Dimichelis just rested for today? Please say yes... Lescott gives me the shits.....

Nope he picked up a knock in training ... hopefully we will have Nastasic for the Palace game on Saturday

We are on a great run at the minute ..... would still like us to strengthen in jan but so far so good. Thought we really missed Aguero but Kompany was outstanding.
