Gutsy win, had to work really hard in the 2nd half. What the f was Kolarov trying to do when he should have hoofed the ball away in the box, almost cost us a goal that sheer stupidity in the 2nd half. Lescott worked very hard but didn't look at all comfortable. Thought we were a bit impetuous at times, diving into tackles on the half way line and getting left for dead. Commanding performance from Joe Hart though and again, great resolve from the blues to come back from a goal down at a time when we were looking a bit out of sorts. We did look a bit short in the box though playing only 1 upfront, in the first half Zab/Navas got to the byline quite a few times and there were just Negredo in the box to aim for.
Crucial win though and full credit to the team.

Yes that was a poor mistake from Kolarov. However, over the 90 minutes Aleks was very good and justified his selection. He contributed everything from a last ditch tackle excellent ball retention.

Yes indeed, didn't mean to give the impression that Kolarov was poor, he was good today.

I thought we were poor, lacklustre, can definately see the benefits of 2 up top as we lacked that dynamic forward momentum and free flowing play, also it really put Negredo through the mill.

Lescott was completely out of his depth, positives were Vinnie after 20 minutes once he realised you can't go through the back of Suarez, Zaba playing a full 90, Fernandinho being top draw again and Hart was good as well.

Off days for Yaya, Nasri and Silva and I think Yaya is struggling in a 2 against a mobile midfield, I'd love a DM like Lucas as he broke up our attacks well and they looked more solid than us at everything bar set pieces, I think we need a top quality one.

Still we won which is a relief, now onto Palace and I hope the players aren't too tired, win puts up top for the first time in god knows how long.

I've not seen the game.In hindsight, would Milners energy have been a better starting option?

No, I picked the same team as Pelle but with Milner in because I thought Zaba was out and Demi was out so Lescott came in. That was a blow to the back to front fluidity imo, didn't help, but I just felt the performance was pretty lethargic for a big home game and that our star players had an off day, the absence of Aguero was very noticeable. Pelle didn't do anything wrong but nothing seemed, bar the odd flashes and some decent if not great spells of pressure, to really get the players into a groove or a flowing performance, just one of those days, we won and we move on to Palace, job done.

Pushed the whole game. Once again the best league team to come to us for the last few years

Delighted with the chrachter we showed today in grinding that result out after going behind.
Lescott..gave me the shits every time the ball is passed to him..hope mp is on the search for anoyger centre half in jan..overall delighted and nice to see the scousers put back in there box today...
Sorry but yes they played well howrver the way they have been crowing about the trophy going back to liverpool this season makes today sweet for mr..Suarez is a dirty cheating **** for the record.

There's not many teams I enjoy beating more than the Scousers. What a whingy, niggly, cry baby, diving bunch of cûnts that club are. From fans to players alike, they're a bunch of big girl's blouses; softest cûnts in football and that's saying something. Time wasting at 0-1 and 1-1 and moaning like fuck when we were doing it at 2-1 - fuck off you half bred twats! We made you look good today. If we were on it we'd put 4 or 5 past them.

I thought Liverpool were excellent today and deserve an awful lot of respect for the way they approached the match. They pushed their entire back 4 just as high up as we did. Attacked with just as many numbers as we did. Give me a team like that every day of the week over some of the dross in this league that come and play for a point.
That's how I saw it as well. Liverpool are an extremely good team with this Munchkin of a manager.
Well played Reds.

I thought Negredo looked tired today and I hope he isn't injured as he limped going off I think Dzeko may start up front against Palace to give The Beast a rest, I'd play Milner in for Nasri as well for rotation.

A good win. And to put it simply, we are a class apart!

Silva, Nasri, Navas, Fern and Yaya are of worls class, they could play for any team in the world and I think it was clear tonight. Henerson, Coutinho et al might show signs but our lot are awsome!

Zab made a differnce(should be mention in conversations with Cafu), Kompany, what else is there to say?

We are the best team in the league, still can't see us wInning it due to the losses at CardiffN S'land, Villa and 0-0 at Stoke

Off days for Nasri and Silva! Both completed more than 90% of their passes and, between them, contributed more key passes than the whole Liverpool team combined. Nasri even made three tackles and two interceptions; which I think means only Fern won more ball for us.

I thought Liverpool were good, but no better than any good team we've faced at coming forward this season, yes they put nice phases of play together but they only really exploited was we already know is our achilles heel, that we're too open and it's too easy for the opposition to be at our backline in 3/4 passes. They were full of energy but actually I thought their cleverness was playing deep in the first half when we had the ball, they did play deep for a while and it was effective, then they did come up a bit, I think after they went ahead and Negredo started slipping in behind. They didn't play that high a line and the key I pointed out in the pre-match analysis I made, that you have to stop them at source playing out from the back, I thought we did poorly today and that's why they had such a good time playing at us. No DM and oddly not having 2 up front to press both centre backs was a problem, but I think the midfield of ours didn't press nearly as much as it should or has in previous games, I think the squad had half an eye on the fixture list and just tried to get through the game, and to their credit they did that, Liverpool had far more energy and desire to press and were a bit sharper as well today, but in footballing terms they were no better than anything I've seen this season at the Etihad, we just weren't on it like in the other big games (bar Bayern).
