All credit to our players getting a big win without Aguero. 1 point from the top, ecstatic.

Also if any Liverpool fan is reading, your team and manager are the real deal. Best team by far we've played in the league.

Same last season. Liverpool definitely top 4. But crucial win for us. As someone else has said, title-winning result. I just feel we have the edge. Our team is powerful and very committed.

That picture of the bench at the final whistle and the celebrations of Nasri and Negredo tell their own story. They both knew they'd been in a proper game of football between two top teams.

I thought Lescott did ok. He stood up even when he was getting the runaround

we complain about out left backs, yet look what Liverpool have

I'm concerned that our centre midfielders, Yaya and Ferdy need a break. They've played a lot of games and we have at least the same number to go

over all a good performance where we dug out a result against a pretty decent team who played at the top of their game

I thought both teams played ok today. Neither were at the top of their game though.

Loads of great chances missed and Suarez wasn't as sharp as he usually is.

Glen Johnson was woeful for Liverpool today and the game completely passed him by.

It was a close and hard fought game considering the massive gulf in quality between the two squads.

We were crap, as were the tactics, or distinct lack if them.

That's not football, basically goading your opponent to knock you out by lowering your hands and sticking your chin out.

Liverpool were no great shakes, a slightly upgraded version of Swansea, who also caused us the same problem between our midfield and defenders.

When Aguero is missing and Negredo is up top on his own, our shortcomings on the back foot are just more pronounced as we lack that extra consideration that opponents have to usually accommodate for.

Lescott should never play for us again, it was clear to see how important it is having a second central defender in Demichelis, who can actually pass a ball forward out of the backline.

Well done Joe Hart, but I thought the rest of the lads are starting to look leggy, our squad depth and quality is nothing of the sort.

What a fantastic result, though. Even at 60 per cent we can get the job done.

Please Manuel, go cap in hand this January.

One left back, one central defender and a world class midfielder.

We must have seen different games

No?

Hart excellent? Check.

Lescott terrible? Check.

Liverpool given the freedom between our midfield and defence? Check.

Lack of goal threat without Sergio? Check.

City players starting to look jaded? Check.

A City win, regardless? Check mate;)
Although I feel we were worthy of the win, your points about the midfield and defence are spot on. The room we allow teams to have in the area between the centre circle and the 18 yard box is criminal. Liverpool should have hurt us more but ultimately didn't. The longer we give teams the freedom of picking passes, turning under no pressure and coming at us the the longer we will concede goals in the manner we do.
The fact our front 6 can almost score at will is our saving grace. It's fucking entertaining whichever way you look at it!

"We were crap". Sorry that's bollocks. Check-off.

Crap by our own previous high standards.

We were a few notches down on intensity and decision making, regardless of the upgrade of opposition.

one particular time lescott was turned a few times from suarez...commentator went ballistic saying he turned JL inside out...funny thing was that he never actually got past him or got a cross in...

people see what they want to see sometimes and dont see the whole incident as theyve made their own minds up beforehand

Lescott was a Rabbit caught in the headlights all game. When he should have stepped forward he didn't when he should have gone with the runner he didn't. Truely awful defending. Nastasic was on the bench so is obviously close to a return - the sooner the better.

YaYa's defending was shocking all through the first half. Only passable in the second half. Manuel has an important decision to make very soon. In my opinion YaYa shouldn't play in a DM role get him up the pitch so he only has to help out as a seondary defender.

One of Silva or Nasri should have dropped back to help out in defensive midfield when the other was playing as the second striker. They didn't. Not good enough.

Don't know why Lescott always gets a bad press on here. When him and Vinny are together we look most solid IMO

Not picking on you mate but it is funny - this season it feels like no matter what the score not matter who we beat someone finds something that's not good enough. We're a miserable bunch at times :)

I take your points though. About Lescott and about Yaya.

Scousers can moan as much as they like about the officials BUT i remember the fuckers getting a penalty at anfied when the ball hit Micah in the fuckin gut & bounced onto his arm.
In fact it was gerrard who told the ref to give it.

They can fuck off bleating about the Oil money as well.
