City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

Though it wasn't the best game we played but I Jst have a feeling we,ll do em at anfield to..
I agree I thought we did a good job and although we won the game I think we missed agueros movement at times.

Just frustration from Rodgers as his team played well and ended up with nothing.

At the top of the game, I have the long standing view that you need to win the game and do enough to negate the ref as a factor should he make a daft decision.

As far as the complaints go re shirt pulling I think the facts are pretty clear;

there were several blatant incidents and none were awarded so we can say the the officials were at least consistent.

On the numerous occasions that Komapany was the victim the outcome was no reaction from him and a goal, although the latter is beside the point for the purpose of this discussion.

on the single occasion Suarez was the victim the outcome was blatant simulation on the part of Suarez, which the officials ignored. Simulation is a yellow card offence I believe regardless of the circumstances i,e. it's irrelevant that his shirt was being pulled if he simulated it is still a yellow. No where does it state mitigating circumstances to my knowledge.

In short the officials were consistent regarding the shirt pulling but failed to yellow card Suarez

Bearing this in mind I am at a loss to understand what Rodgers et al are moaning about, it would appear we were the wronged team in this incident.

Toughest game we had all season.
Credit where credits due, they will be up there come May.

I agree. Was impressed with both them and Arsenal. While I feel we deserved the win in both games, the opposition contributed hugely to the spectacle.

It's going to be a tough second half of the season as we play virtually all the best sides in the league away apart from Chelsea and Southampton so we need to keep chalking up the wins at home

Liverpool came out of that game with a lot of credit, apart from Skrtel obviously. Up there with Hull and Swansea as our most difficult games at home so far. Can't say the same for their manager or a large section of their fans though.

I can't see us dropping a point at home now.

This big success thing you City fans have now must be such a nice surprise.

No one I knows begrudges you it, frankly, having to endure so many years of relative lack of success, lower divisions and the in your face gall seeing your Salford neighbours run rampant, it's nice to know that you can now make good all that hardship and if that means sticking it to your neighbours, so be it, God knows they had it coming.

However, might you recognise that the fans of other big clubs really don't have that much of a problem with your success?

Obviously, we'd all like to be top dog but for now, no one, other than manc fans, really hates you.

In other words, get used to it (I.e. your success....you will win the title) and don't overreact to perceived criticism, whether intended or more likely not?

"no one, other than manc fans, really hates you."

Please be so good as to quantify a "manc fan".

We southern fans use manc to refer to fans from Salford, though I do appreciate the possible misunderstanding, however idiomatic it might seem.

Might I add that the phrase did not seem lost on your fellow travellers?
United are from Trafford, not Salford.

How can Suarez ask for a pen?
Admittedly his shirt was being pulled but the pull would have taken him right not up in the air to the left.
Pure cheating

Whinging whining scousers - they lost not because of the ref but because their strikers missed some sitters

And some of the words used by Rogers are utterely cringeworthy words - brave is one that springs to mind - they are playing a football match not going over the top at the somme

Really really hope these whinging whining self pitying tossers domt make the top 4 - as bad as it sounds i think i would prefer the rags to finish 4 although in an ideal world Barcodes would be best just cant see it

Apparently, he spoke out because as manager, he represents the emotions of millions of fans worldwide pmsl.

Ducado is bang on the money, they are a fucking cult pmsl.
