City v Newcastle post match thread

I could've wept watching that performance tonight. A team liberated.

Know it's early doors, but be interested to know what those who grumbled about this summer's transfer business thought of Navas and Fernandinho in particular.

Also, we seemed to play the much worried about high defensive line and kept a clean sheet. I'm sure someone told me it was never gonna work in this league!

Was very interesting to see the differences in set-up. Yaya and Fern were very rarely more than 10 yards apart whilst Navas was glued out wide. Just loved seeing us finally playing with someone with genuine pace. Dzeko re-born, if he continues to play like that I'll maybe consider myself being wrong about him....... ;-)

A brilliant performance in what I would say was 3rd out of 5 gears. Newcastle look like early faves for the drop - a piss poor team.

Ref and his assistants were absolutely dross.

Can't wait for next weekend, as I believe that this time next Monday we will be 3 clear of United.

"United" ???

Rag ****.
See if that was off anyone else it'd be funny, but you're just turning into a weird stalker type, so it's not.

-- Mon Aug 19, 2013 11:40 pm --

See if that was off anyone else i'd take it as a joke, but you're just a weird stalker type, so i'll take it as such.

Absolutely buzzing. Navas MOTM for me, he is going to be absolutely vital this year.

Great game some class moments

Me too I thought Navas should of got MOTM

Very impressed. Lovely goals, excellent defending, brilliant attacks, could easily have been more. Was laughing at the chances missed in the 2nd half, only because we were already 3 nil up. Top of the league and the best yet to come, I'll take that anyday at the start of a new season. Well played lads.

Thank God Kompany's injury isn't serious.....he looks fitter and better than ever.
Navas is not just a great player but is a damn hard working one.
Like everyone else I think Dzeko looks like a player reborn.....but.....he missed a hell of a lot of chances tonight.
Fernandinho is a fantastic addition to the team.

OK It was against a rubbish Newcastle team but clearly there is cause for great optimism for the season ahead.
I am not sure how to describe it but there was an extra speed to the attacks tonight that was not there last season.

It was Arsenal's fault that we hammered the Geordies, according to Alan Pardue after the game.

not much more to add, is there? we were exceptional. i even thought lescott, after a few early shaky moments, was very good.

dzeko was exceptional and all over the pitch, navas is a way more rapid milner with better quality on the ball and delivery (this is not to knock milner, who's a very good player in his own right) and fernanindho.

Fernan-fucking-dinho. What a player. Again, one game, but looked miles better than Paulinho did against an even wanker Palace.
